It's Will Stein's first year too. This isn't 2012. Coaches don't need 4 years to "get their guys in" in the era of 80 players going in and out of the door in one offseason. When you take over a 2-10 team and the first step you take is backwards, you're not a good coach.
2-10 is a tough sell for a new coach and an even tougher sell with little financial commitments. Boosters don't want to give Yurachek money which I understand but that condemns the new coach so he's fighting with both hands tied behind his back.

That's right, when someone or something or some team is at its worst, when clouds overhead are black, when the whole world seems to be against them, when even the friendless seem to have more friends, abandon them and fight against them to make things that much worse.
That's what a real football fan does, sticks the knife in deeper.
They have made it abundantly clear that they do not care about the product produced to the fans as long as they can balance the checkbooks. Being a "good fan" has only perpetuated our problems.

Kiffin could have been in Fayetteville instead of Oxford directly after the Chad Morris disaster, but again Yurachek's incompetence kneecapped the potential of the program. Arkansas' financial commitment is not so far behind the Kentuckys and Mississippi States of the world that the performance gap should be this large. Pittman was also functioning within a bare bones budget at the bottom of the conference. He won 9 games once and 7 games twice.

Silverfield was an awful, lazy hire that should be the nail in the coffin for Yurachek's time as AD here. There was absolutely zero indication in his tenure at Memphis that he was a coach ready to make the jump to the P4, much less the SEC. He couldn't even make the AAC title game a single time in 6 years as the big fish in a small pond. Money isn't his issue. He just sucks.
Yurachek's last three football hires have been Major Applewhite at Houston and Sam Pittman into Ryan Silverfield here. He's a god awful AD.

Somebody has to be at the bottom. Why not Arkansas?

I don't care about Arkansas really, but how can the admin over there have allowed things to go this far south? Wasnt Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson at Arky? Seems like they could get a competent AD over there to burn this shite to the ground and start from scratch.

Because of being an NFL owner, JJ is limited in what he can do with our program. (at least that's what the talking heads say)
Jimmy has had no significant contact with us that I can ever remember.
Most of the people of influence around our program are "good ol' boys" and play the politically correct game instead of ruffling feathers.
We need someone to come in and disrupt the status quo at this point.

Arky’s decline perfectly aligns with SEC expansion. Coincidence?

there's been no improvement as the season has gone on and our offense is the worst it's ever been.
Wait, you mean 461 rushing yards for a 2.8 average 5 games in isn't good? Our top back has 136 yards with a 3.4 average. That's not good either? Who knew?

Admins should put a donation box outside for the protesters to put their NIL donations into.

Arkansas’ home games remaining:
Tennessee, Mizzou (whom you scheduled for homecoming after what we’ve done to you?!), South Carolina, & LSU.
If you all don’t beat South Carolina that LSU game to end the season (one in which Kiffin might need style points) could be the type of embarrassment that actually leads you to a 1 season tenure head coach.
If yall blow your next hire you might not recover till the 40s.

I'm not defending Yurachek. Frankly I have no clue how they were able to let him make the football hire. I absolutely think he should be gone. I just don't think Silverfield is getting as fair a shake as he should because of the fanbase's disdain for Yurachek. I don't know that he's doing worse than anyone else would have considering that Arkansas is last in the SEC in contributing resources.
Now, KJ Jackson being the best Silverfield could do at QB is certainly a question I'd have to ask him but if the budget is $1.5m, which again, is what atleast 4-5 SEC backups are making, then maybe he was. And I'm assuming Jackson is at $1.5m over whatever years he has left so it's really less than that.

I saw somewhere that Arkansas still spent 20+ million on their roster...amazing you can spend that type of money and still not have success.

The Waltons openly admit they don't care about athletics. Tyson says he has chickens, not oil (talking about the Texas Tech guy). You can't extract money from unwilling participants. But, I can sense Arkansas is going about it the wrong way and further alienating themselves from any chance at any of that money. If I had a bunch of money and was close to Arkansas athletics, I would tell all of you to go to hell. But, that's just me.

It's not that amazing when you consider that what they spent is less than 9 teams that they play. Gotta hit on every eval.
