I think Arkansas' staff could survive the loser's bracket a little better but I don't think either team is too worried about the other half of the bracket.
Obviously every team here can play ... that's not what I mean, just that the best two in the bottom half meet game one and would likely meet again to get to the finals.
I say it every time this conversation comes up

SHADOW SYSTEMS CR920 Combat

If you haven't shot a SS yet you need to go shoot one. Silky smooth and you don't have the flaws that the SIGs have.
Say what you want about a SIG. I have a CSSO license and I spend time on the range every year with guys carrying multiple guns. The SIGs DO NOT perform like the SS and Glocks do.
Smith and Wesson's seem to do ok. Springfield Arms makes a solid unit as well.
I have a .40 SA for home defense. One of the guys on our CSSO team carries a Hellcat. Nice weapon.

But I am not a SIG fan at all. Seen some accidents and near accidents with them that back up the stories I've heard.

Just about every crappie I've ever caught in a pond has been on some type of beetle spin.
In general crappie are bad for small ponds because they are voracious eaters.... which typically makes them easy to catch in a pond.
We recently sold some land through them. Blake Shelby in South Arkansas. Good guy and did a great job for my parents.. Both properties sold very quickly too.

Got to meet Phil once at Hollis' Seafood in Spearsville. This was before the Duck Dynasty days. 1000% as advertised.
I have had the chance to meet and worship with Jace and Missy.
I can tell you that if you doubt the Robertson family you are dead wrong. They live their faith 24/7. It isn't an act. Good people

The world lost a good man with a heart for The Almighty. Heaven gained a Saint!
I can't imagine the number of people he led to Christ but I bet it's impressive.

RIP Brother Phil!

re: Smoking Ribs Tips

I bought a cheap offset smoker in December and have had mixed results smoking ribs. Once they were great, a couple of times they OK and a couple of times thye weren't good.

I have watched some Youtube videos but have really only tried the Mad BBQ Scientist method which is something like 3 hours at 225F, at the 2 hour mark you start to spray the ribs every 15 minutes, One hour at 275F (still spatrying every 15 minutes) , then pour smoked lard (in the smoker the whole time) on the ribs and wrap and smoke for 30 more minutes.

Like I said, the above method has had mixed results so I am thinking of trying Meat Church's method which is 2.5 hours at 275F, Spray once at the 1.5 hour mark, wrap with brown sugar and butter and put back in for another 1.5 hours at 275F.

The real issue is that I am not sure when I should be wrapping it and neither method mentions taking the internal temp of the meat. They just give a certain time at a certain temperature and I am not sure how to adjust based on how the meat is actually cooking.

I have smoked pork butt well but thats much easier given how fatty it is. I am afraid to try brisket until I figure out the ribs.

Any tips for a novice smoker is appreciated.

Don't over think ribs. 3 hours at 225 is probably not long enough.
I typically go 275 for 2 uncovered. Wrap for an hour and then back uncovered for a quick sear at the end.

The question is do you want "competition" ribs or "good eatin" ribs.

If good eating is what you are looking for then this is the best method I have found.

If you want that competition look and taste then wrapping might not be what you need to do.
You will find a million different methods on you tube.
I would suggest watching the old school guys like Johnny Trigg.
HowToBBQRight is my usual go to BBQ guy on YouTube these days. He offers a lot of different options on different smokers as well. His rubs are really good too if you are looking for some good blends.
Honda Pioneer 1000..... had mine about 6 months and absolutely love it.

I get what you are saying about difficult places. What blows my mind is the weights the pros caught at Fork.

The average weekend fisherman would look at those weights and think, man what a great lake. I will head over there and catch a bunch of big bass myself.

After a few days on the lake, and a total of five to ten fish caught up to five or six pounds (maybe!) he will realize the reality. Mother Fork is a tough nut to crack. The local guides don't catch what the top pros just caught.

Totally agree. When I was in my fishing prime we made a trip to Fork 3 years in a row. 1st trip caught them pretty good. Dad caught his PB... good trip but one of the days was with a guide so we got some local intel.
2nd year we caught it absolutely perfect and smoked them. 3 straight days of 5-7 lbers and it was incredible.
Trip 3... cold front... caught 5 the first day. 2 fish the next two.. came home a day early.
That is probably the best lake in America but even there the conditions matter.
Cole Barthel

would have been fine on the team he was on if Houston would have ever benched Robert Johnson and let him play.

Transferred down to D2 and set some national records at the time.

Houston had a bad habit of playing "his boys" regardless of who else he had.

Well bringing in a freshman for his second appearance of the season in a one run game in the 9th against a hot hitting team comes to mind :rotflmao:

Yeah... Love to see a CWS title... but not even close that I'd get more joy out of Football.

Basketball is pretty sweet too.... although it's been a long time since '94

Mainly to watch the melts, but being an Arky fan I've had my share as well.

Boogie knew the deal. He was supposed to be one and done, Cal recruited Acuff behind him and knew neither would sit for the other one. So once the draft deal started to fall through it was clear he would probably end up somewhere else. I ain't mad at him for it. Honestly I'll be more disappointed if Knox doesn't return than Boogie.

I like a fan that publicly admits he has never really cared for his team for their entire history. Outstanding fandom right here.

NEVER said I never cared for my team. My point was, you can't do much about the past.... focus on the present.
Clearly you can't read for context.

No titles in the past will do that to a person. I'm sure if we had one it several times I might have a different perspective.

And the most famous people from Louisiana can barely speak English and chase gators around the swamp hollering "choot 'em".

Historically, yeah you've been better if the litmus test is titles (and it should be).

But you could argue that we are the best program never to have one it all.
And every single Hog fan on this board feels the pain of that. It absolutely sucks because at least twice in recent memory we were probably the best team there and didn't get it done.

The life of a Hog fan for sure.
Weve been there quite a bit. And it sucks that we've never won it.

Don't see Texas Tech there. We had like half our roster and handled them pretty well in the bowl game.
I thought the only correct answer was Tony Vitello

While true, a win in the extra inning game would have won Arkansas the series. Really hard to dispute….

you are trying to bring logic and common sense to an argument with LSU fans.

let it go.

We left BR still in second with a chance to win the league this weekend.
That's really all that matters at the moment.

would LOVE to see one of these punks try it in Fayetteville with Iredale and the Aloy brothers. :pimp:
