Franklin easily raises our floor. That’s all we really want. We are tired of winning 2-6 games. If we can win 7-9, sign me up. It’s been hell
Exactly.... get me out of the basement and get us competing again. I want to see big boy competitive football again.

I'd take Franklin in a heartbeat... and if we could make the hire early and start the process, even better.
Might show some actual competence by our athletic department for a change. If he's really forward thinking he figures out a way to keep BP on either as OC or analyst or something and you are that much further ahead on one side of the ball.
Yeah.... that all makes WAY too much sense for anything HY has done as AD.

Gonna be a rough go for the ladies this year but maybe we can keep a nucleus and build on it.

Do you mind explaining this to me like I'm 5.
There's not a kid on this team or future teams that have a clue who these folks are. And my guess is they probably don't give two shits as long as they're paid.
It's time for all this nostalgia bs to stop if they're serious about football.
Sure, you made my point for me.
We lost our culture. Our current kids don't know our legends. They don't know the tradition and don't know why the helmet matters. Say what you want about HDN and co. but it mattered and they made it matter. The captured lightning in a bottle. BP built on that and took it to the next level. Had us teetering on the brink of elite status until that fateful "motorcycle crash" or whatever you would like to call it.
The fact that our kids don't know those guys says we lost our way and the record speaks for itself. We are better when the state is united. Argue all you want but the numbers prove it and always have.
Yeah it may look a little different with NIL, but we still need Arkansas talent to make it work so we had better figure it out.

I have no idea if DB would be a solid AD hire or not.... I will say he wouldn't be worse than HY.
We lost the pulse of the state between Long and HY. There is no connection to the people of Arkansas. You've got to bring the Madre Hill, DMac, JWright, Matt Jones, Hillis, etc type guys back around the program consistently. And not just football.
Cal is doing it in BBall..... bringing back the basketball guys and making connections.
STAND ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANTS!!!!!!!

I will point out that most OC's script a percentage of their plays early in the game.
I want to say Bobby always scripts the first 10. Maybe 20. After that he calls off of those notes.
It seems to me that since he's been back he doesn't have the same killer instinct off of those early playcalls that he used to.
Now,
maybe some of that is limited by Taylen. Maybe some of that is wanting to try and run the ball and keep the defense off the field.... but the deep shots and killler instinct don't seem to be there like before.
We still see them early.... Just don't seem to be able to dial them up late when we need them.
Again, maybe that's not fair and he's handcuffed by a QB that gets tunnel vision when the game is on the line but that's the feel I get.
I also know that by nature coaches tend to get more conservative as they age. I think we see that in his play calls now.
Not that it's a bad thing necessarily, but the offense feels more predicable than before... maybe we know it better also.

even though thats exactly how he created it.

Same in South Ark. I can put out 50 lbs of corn and it'll take a week for it to get eaten where normally that might be gone in a night or two.
Acorns everywhere.
Our lease is a different story... not a lot of hardwoods and they are on feed a lot better but my land at the house, if you ain't on mast trees you might as well stay at the house.

I've been wanting to try Missouri but I'm in a phase of life right now that just doesn't afford me the time to scout and hunt early season like I would like. My daughter is a golfer and I'm a school administrator also coaching the golf team.... pretty much eats up our summer and fall.
Maybe in a couple of years I can look into it again.
I will say I really enjoyed hunting Central Texas. Not known for giants and we only made a couple of trips out there but it was fun and much different terrain than South Arkansas timber and Pines.

He's going to be a HC sooner than later but I'm surprised he hasn't been a coordinator yet.
Makes me wonder why....

Morris is probably a solid hire but it's going to come off as underwhelming to the fanbase most likely.

Hard pass on Riley. All the issues with BP and not recruiting defense were even worse with Riley at OU. I literally NEVER watch him at USC so IDK if he's fixed the issue but I'm still not a fan. Another offensive guy that seems bothered by devoting practice time to defense.

Enough girls basketball talent in state to be successful. Can't let the top programs come in and cherry-pick top talent. Maybe then we can get back to competing.

not really. look at the discrepancy between the flags on the two teams. That's not incompetence, that's intent bro.
Watch MSU's last drive and tell me you can't pick out a hold on every pass play?
