Agreed. I think Arkansas is closer to a top 16 seed than this shows as well. They won 3/5 series against the SEC teams ranked ahead of them

And the committee knows Baum will have 10,000 butts in seats all weekend for a regional also..... don't act like that doesn't matter...
yeah... hope we can host a regional but honestly I'm not sold on this team being able to take 2-3 on the road in a super with how shaky our pitching has been.
Hope I'm wrong.....

Ewin being granted another year and Semedo giving him 8-10 minutes a game would be workable.
Odds on Ewin getting the waiver?

Sounds like decent odds. You never know with the NCAA though.

Any chance the Semedo contributes this year? That would help some.

Almost feels like Cal is counting on him to contribute, otherwise surely we would have been more aggressive on portal bigs..... I would think... but heck I have no idea what Cal is thinking at the 5.

Maybe, but the offense wasn't really ever the problem. Taylen finished 7th in the nation in QBR and just got drafted.

Yeah but what was our "go to" play when we had to have something? And how many times did Taylen look lost on them.
Granted, we couldn't stop a bad jr high team on defense, but offense routinely crapped the bed once the opposing DC made adjustments.

And couldn't win an SEC game

When I was an OC in HS, I went to the Tony Franklin system about 10 years in. Tried to run it all. We were ok at all of it but never got great at much. Cost us a lot of games. Later in my career we went to a more simplified version that focused a lot more on gap runs and RPO.... got really good at a lot less stuff. Suddenly our offensive numbers skyrocketed and we won a lot more. Granted I was at some schools that weren't powerhouses so win totals are relative, but I learned fewer tools and sharper blades seemed to be a better system than having the fanciest tool box out there.
I always felt like that was BP to an extent.... Offensive genius... but I just think it was too much for MOST college kids.... Obviously he had a special group his first go here.... but it never really felt like his QB's "got it" this time around.
I know enough of his scheme that I was very frustrated that Taylen's eyes went to the wrong read on the snap frequently and he just couldn't follow post-snap movement in the secondary. To me that speaks of the playbook being too big and he probably needed more time with fewer progressions.
Just my 2 cents from a former HS guy. I clearly am not and never will be on these guys' level, but a lot can be said for being great at a few things.
Hogs could still work their way in or out of hosting. That said I have low confidence that we will do a whole lot to help our cause but 3 series wins to close the year might do it. Who knows.
I agree. I think we have fixed that. Seems like we might have a legit defensive staff again that doesn't just fly with the flavor of the week. Offensively we should be more measured and better at what we do even if the playbook is a little skinnier (it has to be, BP probably had one of the biggest playbooks in CFB).

4-5 wins

After last year and basically gutting the team and starting over, 4-5 would be a sign of life I think.

I'm getting sick of the negativity..... yea it sucks to suck, but let's TRY and be at least a little bit positive.

Any particular reason why?

I just don't think the roster as a whole will be competitive.

I think you are dead wrong.... Not saying we are contending for a playoff spot... I just don't think this is a historically bad roster. Now I will say that is assuming we get QB production.
I think the defense is going to be light years better... Coaching is light years better...
and you can't even really measure the new coach effect. Especially going from a ho-hum guy like Pittman to an energy guy like Silverfield.
I think realistically we could see 6ish wins which I think would be a very good start to this era. 4-5 is probably more likely.
I guess we will find out soon enough.

You brought him up.
I also said the play of the frontcourt (group of players) didn't match the play of the backcourt (a separate group of players). Do you think everyone in the backcourt was generational? Because that's the only way what you said would make any sense.

You're just trolling at this point. Everyone who watched the team knows the frontcourt was the weakness all year. It was brought up from December to March.

Boy ya'll got fiesty yesterday!!!! :rotflmao:

I think we are all a little worked up that we haven't fixed our weaknesses yet.

I think we have one on the fringe, but likely early second

Agreed

That is not even remotely the case.

If that list is accurate, Lousiville has spent their money much better than everyone so far this portal season.

True story
quote:

Building a new 40x60 insulated shop with an additional 15x60 drop shed off the side. If you could do it again what do you wish you would have built into your shop?

Still wishing I had one.... My better half doesn't seem to think it's a priority. Wasn't for me until my youngest turned 16 and now my Bass Cat is out in the yard instead of warm and cozy in the garage.
So now I need one bad.

I'd like to have a 30-36 with an overhang on each side and a loft.
I'd use one overhang for storage and the other for an outdoor cooking/entertainment area.
I will also probably slope the slab and put water and drains in it so I can clean boat/vehicles inside and also so I can pull the boat plug and drain livewells without worrying about water damage.

Outside of that, I'd just be tickled to have a shop.

It doesn't look like it and it isn't fair to the Tysons and Hunts that they are doing the heavy lifting.

You are telling me that they can't pony up 5 mil for an elite big to win a title.... I'm calling bull on that one brother....

Yeah these are two really good portal gets, but still haven't addressed the real problem of a top tier 5.
Yeah give be a 4/5 combo that is NOT in love with the 3 point line and I'll take it.
Brazile was a good player for us, inconsistent, but good.... but I won't miss holding my breath every time he jacked up a 3.
Solid get, Still need a true 5 that can be a force of nature.

The amount of melting over this is fricking hilarious. How many times is this going to be posted?

Maybe time to realize you hired a spoiled pre-teen as a head coach :pimp:
