I still worry about our depth. You get a group of refs with tight whistles and we may struggle.

I try to be realistic but I picked with my heart and loyalty this year. I have us winning it.
I think Acuff and Brazile are tough matchups for just about anyone. I don't think Arizona is tested enough and I think we have a lot of what they might struggle with. Their guards don't like to defend and they seem to hitch their wagon to one horse down low.
Wisconsin honestly worries me a lot mainly because they can score at a high level....
but they don't defend well.
I've got us and BYU in the regional final and a rematch with Florida for the title where we exact revenge from that game at their place.
In other words, my bracket may be doomed from the start.... but by golly if it comes through it'll be a fun ride!

every time but one.
Look at England's track record recently.... AAA should do something.... probably won't .... but they should.

been the most disappointing of the original group to me.... we saw flashes last year... this year he's looked lazy like he's mailing it in trying to not get hurt for the draft... gonna cost him being a pick too.
His upside is incredible but we aren't seeing it

Any NBA team wanting to upgrade their guard play should take a hard look at Acuff or Philon..... both are elite scorers with great floor vision. Make folks around them better.....
Heck of a game... sucks we came up short but honestly if we hit a 3rd OT we probably have to have player introductions in the huddle for the next guy to foul out. Not having Knox and Isiah tonight was probably the difference. Ya'll won the battle with attrition and more depth.
A rematch in Nashville would be fun!

Well 3-1 isn't setting the world on fire but to go 3-1 on the weekend with good competition isn't a bad opening slate. Had EVERY chance to leave Arlington 4-0.....

for sure without DJ... I still think Knox brings intangibles. All DJ has done most of the year is steal minutes from Maleek. If we get NCAAT DJ then welcome back big fella.... regular season DJ comes with a lot of frustration.

that’s my point. Having some goofy arse “teams” for weight lifting is hokey bullshite. Is the fact you are competing for one of the biggest prizes in American sports a college football national championship not enough? I mean I’m sure our players don’t see it that way because it wasn’t put in those terms but that should be the day 1 explanation and the backbone to everything we do. National championship or bust. That should be the only standard. You aren’t working out to win some goofy arse game within the locker room you are grown arse men getting paid 100s of thousands if not millions of dollars and have a multi million dollar facility to work in, and you should be lifting to get one step closer to the nfl and to win a national title. If that isn’t enough motivation get the frick out.
And before anyone responds yes I know we aren’t winning the title next year that isn’t the point. The point is the standard and the standard doesn’t change. How do you think cignetti did what he did at Indiana? Because you can bet your arse he never once walked in and said “we’re Just Indiana
Clearly you don't understand how to change a culture.... maybe you should..... IDK... LET THE COACH COACH HIS TEAM and you just be a fan.... or go to school and get a degree and go coach 'em.....
You are either part of the problem or part of the solution.... griping about everything and being a naysayer is clearly being part of the problem.
Culture doesn't change until attitudes and perceptions and expectations change... if you knew how to do the job you would understand that but you CLEARLY would rather just be an internet naysayer....

The rest of the team needs to stop relying on Darius to do all the work... getting a goose egg from Knox and Pringle is usually gonna be an automatic L.
Too much talent to not play well in a big game like last Saturday.
Might be time to lengthen the bench until the "stars" get the message.

High school ball can be really rewarding, you just can't gauge success in wins or how many kids you put in the league.
I look back and hope and pray that:
1. I developed boys into quality young men that will go be the salt and the light.
2. I taught the game right, tried to coach fundamentals, stayed innovative with schemes, and helped them have fun with it.
3. Taught them there's a much bigger game to win than just the one we play on a given Friday.
I hope I was able to do that.... didn't get rich as a coach. In 22 years probably had maybe a couple of dozen that played beyond HS at some level.
A couple were able to play at a high major.
But I love to see them come back home and husbands and professionals and they are living out the ideals we tried to instill in them.
That's success at this level.
College and pro is a lot more about the talent and the money. Always thought it would be cool to coach at that level but never really had the chance.. and that's cool.
Big Dan would make a heck of an O-line coach! Best of luck to him!
