that’s my point. Having some goofy arse “teams” for weight lifting is hokey bullshite. Is the fact you are competing for one of the biggest prizes in American sports a college football national championship not enough? I mean I’m sure our players don’t see it that way because it wasn’t put in those terms but that should be the day 1 explanation and the backbone to everything we do. National championship or bust. That should be the only standard. You aren’t working out to win some goofy arse game within the locker room you are grown arse men getting paid 100s of thousands if not millions of dollars and have a multi million dollar facility to work in, and you should be lifting to get one step closer to the nfl and to win a national title. If that isn’t enough motivation get the frick out.

And before anyone responds yes I know we aren’t winning the title next year that isn’t the point. The point is the standard and the standard doesn’t change. How do you think cignetti did what he did at Indiana? Because you can bet your arse he never once walked in and said “we’re Just Indiana

Clearly you don't understand how to change a culture.... maybe you should..... IDK... LET THE COACH COACH HIS TEAM and you just be a fan.... or go to school and get a degree and go coach 'em.....

You are either part of the problem or part of the solution.... griping about everything and being a naysayer is clearly being part of the problem.
Culture doesn't change until attitudes and perceptions and expectations change... if you knew how to do the job you would understand that but you CLEARLY would rather just be an internet naysayer....
The rest of the team needs to stop relying on Darius to do all the work... getting a goose egg from Knox and Pringle is usually gonna be an automatic L.
Too much talent to not play well in a big game like last Saturday.
Might be time to lengthen the bench until the "stars" get the message.
High school ball can be really rewarding, you just can't gauge success in wins or how many kids you put in the league.
I look back and hope and pray that:
1. I developed boys into quality young men that will go be the salt and the light.
2. I taught the game right, tried to coach fundamentals, stayed innovative with schemes, and helped them have fun with it.
3. Taught them there's a much bigger game to win than just the one we play on a given Friday.

I hope I was able to do that.... didn't get rich as a coach. In 22 years probably had maybe a couple of dozen that played beyond HS at some level.
A couple were able to play at a high major.
But I love to see them come back home and husbands and professionals and they are living out the ideals we tried to instill in them.
That's success at this level.
College and pro is a lot more about the talent and the money. Always thought it would be cool to coach at that level but never really had the chance.. and that's cool.
Big Dan would make a heck of an O-line coach! Best of luck to him!

I learned a long time ago not to get too invested in our athletic program. My first game as a student was a loss to the Citadel.

I've only witnessed one natty ('94) in my lifetime and feel like we're Charlie Brown trying to kick the football most other times

Embrace it bro.... it makes that good days that much sweeter!

Spearsville is basically Arkansas.

No sir.... we won't claim that place.... except Hollis seafood.... that place is good!
(and some of my kinfolk )

Down South we have some underground and working to bury more but still quite a bit is above ground. :banghead:
Ya'll a bunch of negative Nancys!!!!
Anyone else getting tired of DJ Williams and the 4th and 5 crap.
SOOOOOOO Negative all the time... and his "film" breakdown is a joke.... clearly still butthurt that BP is gone....

Needs to move on if he can't get on board...

One good thing about being a poor backwards state with most people not having electricity in their houses.
When the ice interrupts the power, you guys won't even notice.

and you Louisiana folks have SO much room to talk.

One of my favorite things to do growing up was to go to Spearsville and laugh at my Louisiana cousins

That is the most Arkansas QB name ever

Thing is, he hasn't even won the job yet....
I feel like he will but AJ Hill should push him all spring and fall.

3. Gets LSU close to the playoffs a time or two but never makes a deep run.

I think this is the most likely. Not like he's a bad coach... just when this much money changes hands only one result is acceptable and he hasn't produced that yet.....
All the hype will make the crash that much harder to look away from.

I honestly don't think about HY unless he's screwing up.... right now I don't care if he stays.... :rotflmao:

Now if the wheels come off in the fall I may have a different answer

and after one class and a portal haul if you can't see the obvious improvement to the roster you need to take off your BP colored glasses and pay attention.

Can he coach? We shall see.... but he can recruit....

Anyone else feel this......

Cautious optimism......

Basketball team has a real chance to contend

Baseball still a little ways away but similar expectations... softball also

Football appears to finally have some capable leadership that understands how to build a roster in all the madness.....

I'm not expecting 10 titles or anything .... but it feels like better days are on the horizon finally!
Team has to channel this effort and take it on the road with them.
I think if you look at the big picture this IU team should probably be number 1 on that list simply looking at a perfect season with quality wins for a program that was hot garbage 3 years ago.
Arky Texas had some dandy games back in the day. So far the SEC side of that rivalry hasn't really heated up.
I expect it to soon though.
Will watch it some. Prefer to watch BASS between the two organizations.
I tend to try to avoid anything that Slimy Boyd has his paws in.
Someone beat me to it but Thursday-Friday Semifinals were a dumb idea.

We happened to be home randomly for the Thursday night game but were at a HS basketball game Friday and what little I got to watch was on my phone.
That's bad scheduling by the CFP or whoever made that call.
