re: Greatest Def. Lineman in SEC History? - Quicksilver
As I'm reading this thread I'm thinking there's no way it's Miles Garrett because I barely remember him having an impact in college. Looked up his stats and yeah they're pretty good. He just didn't have much success against Ole Miss because he was going up against Laremy Tunsil for 2 of the 3 years....

re: If the BCS computers were used today, how would the rankings look? - Quicksilver
Wrong. The teams that participated in the BCS were drawn from the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS; formerly known as Division I-A) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and were determined by a ranking system that consisted of three equally weighted components: the USA Toda...

re: SOGa+ College Football Rankings & SEC Picks - End of September Edition - Quicksilver
I like Bean but I think Daniels is the better QB. Bean was rattled/amped early, finally calmed down a little, and then got rattled/amped again. I think more amped than rattled....

All the BCS did was rank teams. Humans decided to put the top 2 into the Natty....

re: Have any other SEC teams lost a game where they gained 700 plus yards in regulation? LSU.. - Quicksilver
only 27 points with 700+ yards? I'm guessing turn overs killed ya?
3 turnovers but it was just a weird game. Ole Miss let Bama beat them multiple times last year. ...

LSU didn't get to 700 Saturday. They were close though. Ole Miss got to 700....

re: Official 2023 Ole Miss Football Season Thread | NEXT: Arkansas 10/7 | 4-1 SEC: 1-1 - Quicksilver
I expect more from Franklin after the bye week. Think he's still getting healthy and is out there more as a decoy right now....

re: Remember when we let the BCS decide the national championship game? - Quicksilver
The BCS was fine. It didn't determine who played in the natty, it just ranked the teams and did a pretty good job at it most often. Humans decided that only two teams counted....

Ole Miss typically plays like shite at Jordan Hare and Brother Hugh will have a nice shiny bullet for that game I'm sure. ...

re: QB Run Game: Should UK employ? - Quicksilver
If Coen has some QB counter read plays that they've already practiced then sure, you call them with your base personnel this week. I don't think bringing in a QB (or whoever) who isn't going to throw the ball and UGA knows isn't going to throw is a recipe for success unless UK really believes they c...

re: How bad would LSU be if Daniels were to go down? - Quicksilver
but I think the other kid throws just as well.
I don't know about this. Daniels made some throws that were simply indefensible against Ole Miss. I'm eating crow on Daniels. He is extremely good....

re: Highest rated QBs: Week 5 - Quicksilver
I understand the various QBR's and what they measure. There are dozens of different ones. For example, I think the ESPN one had Dart below Carson Beck but a few points above Mertz. It gave Milroe the highest of the week....

re: Highest rated QBs: Week 5 - Quicksilver
A. There are too many different QB ratings at this point and none of them seem to align. B. There's no way you can slice it to where Graham Mertz had a better game than Jackson Dart....

re: The SEC West will be a three-way tie determined by a coin flip - Quicksilver
I miss the pre-expansion rule for tie breakers - whoever was the least recent to make the trip to NOLA for the Sugar got the nod That would give it to Ole Miss
This would go to LSU actually. LSU last played in the Sugar Bowl in 2007. Ole Miss was there 2 years ago and Bama last ...

re: Will Kentucky reach bowl eligibility this year? - Quicksilver
Louisville is garbage and MSU is reeling. I'm not a believer in Kentucky so if you told me they went 7-5 I really wouldn't be shocked but I'm gonna guess somewhere around 9-3. ETA: Yes I know Louisville is undefeated. I said what I said....

re: Honest assessment of your team after Saturday's game - Quicksilver
I believe in the week 3 version of this thread, I said that if Ole Miss can get healthy offensively, they can beat anyone on their schedule. Ole Miss got 2 of their 3 missing pieces back against LSU to almost full health. I think the LSU game validated that although it opened up more questions about...
