We literally have the same admission standards

Also why nobody is able to make them a better offer.

I suspect the schools will disembark from the NCAA very soon actually, at least in football. The market around CFB evolved dramatically and quickly the last two decades with it becoming such a profitable sport for TV networks. The business model the NCAA simply doesn't make sense in the scope of modern college football.
Not Ole Miss' fault. The state controls admission standards for all public universities in MS.
Eli has a tv show he does for ESPN where he visits different college campuses. He did one for PSU where he pretended to be a JUCO walk-on trying out for the team that was actually really funny.

Haven't been in years but Ajax' catfish used to be tough to beat. I do miss the food in Oxford - underrated food town.
There's already a very similar thread on the board but yeah the favorite has only won once in the last decade and that was last year.
If there's one thing I know about Tennessee fans, they'll be back. They do not lose the offseason in any sport.
I think the answer here is LSU
Fresno may have been a bigger dog the year they won it. Murray State doesn't necessarily beat you by home run. They are excellent at hitting down the line and the gap. They had to come close to a regional record for doubles in Oxford. One player hit 4 in a single game.

Georgia State whipped Vandy last year so it wouldn't be too unexpected.

Kromenhoek and Taylor, our QB room is one of the few bright spots on our team.

So a RS Fr who didn't look great in his limited time as a freshman and a true freshman that hasn't played a snap is a bright spot? Behind a QB who has never completed a full season?

When you consider how good the SEC, specifically the SEC West was during Saban's tenure, and the fact that Bear more or less helped the SEC pick his schedule most years, I think it's Nick. Not to take anything away from Bryant.

Murray state is so damn good

Legitimately one of the best teams I have seen at just making contact in a long, long time. Even game 1 they outhit Duke.
He was a true freshman whose best days are likely ahead of him. I doubt he will be #1 at the end of next season but I wouldn't just be shocked.

The #2 QB on that list is almost purely on hype and potential.

The #4 QB on that list was 10th in passer rating and 12th in YPA among SEC QBs last year.

I freely admit I could be proven wrong, but if your top 4 include two QBs with barely a resume to speak of, what's that say about the rest of the list?

Next year's QB draft class could be just as bad if not worse than this year's.
Ole Miss would've played UGA in the SR so it couldn't have been an all SEC final.
Stoops busted his arse, got paid, and has decided that's good enough.
I don't think this is clickbait. Lagway is very talented and has more experience than Manning at this point. Arch may come out and set the world on fire but he's thrown less than 100 career passes at this point so it's okay for the jury to still be out. Nuss may take a big step forward or he may continue to stare down WRs and throw picks. Not every QB takes a transcendent step.

Carson Beck and Shedeur Sanders were two Heisman favorites going into last season. Beck flamed out and while Sanders did finish 8th in the rankings, at no point was he really in the race beyond week 2-3.
I blame Ole Miss for escalating this. They were ordering them by the pallet in 2022.
