People that smoke flower in public are trashy and would do it regardless of the laws around it so the point is moot. As others have said there’s already laws in place to prevent this so your issue isn’t with legalization it’s with enforcement and that has more to do with your local government than anything else

Regular (daily) THC use lowers testosterone and causes ED.
never heard of whiskey dick?
quote:

It's possible to drink a drink without getting drunk. If you fire one up, you're getting stoned. And holding a drink in your hand and drinking it doesn't affect others. Blazing away in public forces everyone else to have to deal with your rancid cloud
 this is hilarious ever heard of a weed pen? And no there’s definitely levels to being high just like levels to being drunk. Taking one hit from a joint isn’t gonna make you start seeing funny colors and hallucinating like a looney tunes cartoon.
Yall sound like a bunch of damn liberals when they talk about taking guns away. You can’t even grasp the reality that is thc use in this country. The genie isn’t going back in the bottle. How did it work with prohibition back in the day? A bunch of boomer retards

Young men have never been more single, lonely, suicide rates keep going up and unemployed. While drinking has never been lower.
correlation does not equal causation

My ‘hood is ridiculous with the smell of weed.
maybe get new neighbors? If your not smoking flower outside nobody around you would know you partake. Thc pen is no smell, gummies obviously, and even smoking inside isn’t going to permeate through your neighborhood. So if you walk outside and can smell it that strongly that means you live around a bunch of habitual pot smokers.

I've been convinced that teenagers and marijuana don't mix. Prefrontal cortex development is real. For every anecdote about "well, I went to high school with a kid who smoked weed every day and he graduated with honors," there are 10 or 15 kids who became losers along the way and lowered their acheivement ceiling.
it’s not legal for teenagers? So you’re already complaining about something that is illegal. What’s the point of this take? Ban all weed so junior doesn’t get his hand on some skunk? What about alcohol? Probably not good for a 15/16 year old to be drunk either. Kills brain cells, but they’re gonna do it anyway.
quote:

Here's the problem with that: let's say someone fires it up in public. A cop makes contact with him to cite/arrest him and the guy fights. If he uses a weapon to resist and the cop pops him there will be millions crying, "That fascist cop killed him over a joint!" No, the cop killed him because he resisted with deadly force while the cop was trying to enforce the law or ordinance that the legislature passed. But, that simple step in logical thinking is too difficult for the NORML fanboys, weedheads and liberal arts majors. So, your idea is effectively unenforceable.
now swap weed with alcohol. That’s the problem with every anti weed argument. It’s made by good ole baws who love a col’ beer after work. You can’t say you hate weed but alcohol is okay because the same issues you point to with weed are there with any vice. What’s the difference to you in someone resisting arrest over marijuana vs resisting arrest for public drunkenness? And you’re much more likely to catch someone resisting while drunk than you are someone stoned out of their mind.
I’m gonna support the guy and I hope it works. I just personally think the whole “workout” teams is corny. Again, that’s just a personal opinion.

Hokey bullshite” and it’s just a weightlifting and training competition
that’s my point. Having some goofy arse “teams” for weight lifting is hokey bullshite. Is the fact you are competing for one of the biggest prizes in American sports a college football national championship not enough? I mean I’m sure our players don’t see it that way because it wasn’t put in those terms but that should be the day 1 explanation and the backbone to everything we do. National championship or bust. That should be the only standard. You aren’t working out to win some goofy arse game within the locker room you are grown arse men getting paid 100s of thousands if not millions of dollars and have a multi million dollar facility to work in, and you should be lifting to get one step closer to the nfl and to win a national title. If that isn’t enough motivation get the frick out.

And before anyone responds yes I know we aren’t winning the title next year that isn’t the point. The point is the standard and the standard doesn’t change. How do you think cignetti did what he did at Indiana? Because you can bet your arse he never once walked in and said “we’re Just Indiana

I don’t think it’s possible to be that bad, but I can’t say I’m not concerned with some of his hokey bullshite but im withholding judgment. If it works im all for it.

and that is why no one will remember your name.
Arkansas historically doesn’t like hiring Arkansas coaches. Which is odd considering how many great coaches have come from the state.

Found it free on YouTube and holy hell what a gem. Classic Michael Caine and Sean Connery was all I needed but the story was amazing as well. Was this film big at the time it came out? Looks like mid 70s.

you just described every high school powerhouse in the state. You don’t hate travel ball, you hate the baseball aesthetic in general
It’s not even funny though. It’s just ignorant. For multiple reasons.1. Their own arguments don’t hold up. The kids who make it to the mlb now actually were on mostly travel teams. 2. It’s not baseball specific. Almost all youth sports teams now have some variation of this. As has been mentioned already ITT, you’ve got dance, cheer, pageants, volleyball, soccer, basketball, softball, hockey, motorcross, etc. not to mention your country club sports that have always cost an arm and a leg or the guys who will shell out ungodly amounts of money for their kids to have the best bass or duck boat and gear to go with it. So the people who say these things thinking they’re being funny just come across as morons.

now in smaller rural schools that is different
I grew up in south Arkansas. About as rural as it gets. If you want to play on even a 3a championship caliber high school team you better play weekend ball.
Calling it travel ball is a misconception. Most play within an hour drive and might have 2/3 big tournaments a year that they go farther too. It’s really just weekend or tournament ball. That would be a better way of describing it. Doesn’t interfere with school off season programs, doesn’t interfere with football, doesn’t interfere with high school baseball. As others have said most high school baseball coaches want kids playing some form of travel ball lets the coach know the kid is serious about it.
quote:

One of my friends, former 2-year Mr. Baseball in LA, has kids who are getting to the age of really segregating in sports and he preaches the hell out of non-specialization. His boy is playing at least baseball and football competitively.
travel ball has nothing to do with taking away from football. Plenty of kids play travel baseball and aau basketball and still play football.
quote:

We’re getting close to the point where these travel ball kid names should be showing up in the pros.
they are in the pros. Almost all of the American players in the mlb today played travel ball. Thats doesn’t mean they did this dumb shite but if you know a kid that’s 13 and plays high level baseball he plays travel ball. I’m sure you can find an example of someone who didn’t but the exception proves the rule.
