The broader point I’m making is comparing 1960’s parties to 2020’s parties doesn’t make sense. They’re nowhere near the same in anything but title

True - the democrats of the 60's knew what a woman was. :rotflmao:

I don’t know if I would ever take the stance of “George Wallace was a Democrat” when Strom Thurmond flipped that same year like the rest of them.

Truth is truth... yes, people change parties. This doesn't change the fact that George Wallace and Nathan Bedford Forrest were democrats :rotflmao:

But there’s more people like you than there are like me in this state and in this country. So you win. Enjoy it!

:usa:
Additionally - it was the democrats who fought against Blacks having the right to vote. It was the democrats who started and staffed the KKK. It was a democrat governor who stood on the steps of the University of Alabama and said "NO BLACKS ALLOWED!" So, you can take a big spoon full of your "whataboutism" and choke on it
quote:

Votes cast illegally according to the constitution would be anyone who isn’t a white male who owns land so…..

Oh, and I meant to add... this is also very stupid. An argument from 60 years ago... really??? What is illegal is NON- CITIZENS voting and these are the "unconstitutional votes" that are currently be advocated by / fought for your party
You can say "right" if you like - but it isn't right. WM is confusing two issues. The point of the thread is that the black vote (whatever that is - as if it is homogenous) is somehow being suppressed because everyone knows - to be a "good black" an "authentic brown person" you MUST vote democrat (Biden even SAID - "If you don't vote for me, you ain't black.") The only votes being suppressed are votes cast illegally according to the constitution. There are many black, brown, male, and female republicans that haven't forsaken their race or moral responsibilities.

Edited to add - there are whole states with 0 republican districts/representatives though the states voted 60/40 in the election. Don't put this on MAGA - this predates MAGA by a LONG SHOT

So the GOP comes up with the idea of relabeling their gerrymandering as political and oh, by the way,
quote:

it just happens to impact minority voting exclusively
and is embraced by the deep South so fast it makes your head swim. How convenient.

This is a stupid statement. You asked us to fire - so I did
I do not share your enthusiasm. Surprised?
No Ohio State, Tennessee, or LSU?? I ain't buyin' it

I have decided to get back on to address this - even though I am so disappointed in my team and this coaching staff that I have finally broken. I have spent way too much time here - and this humiliating loss has finally convinced me that there are more important things to do with my time. This is not a grand exit, burning of a moniker to start another - post. I just had to come on here for this one comment and I am done.

Remarks like the one above - not picking on Rip - are what have taken the joy out of fellowshipping with you guys. I can't tell you how many times I was called a stupid troll for having different opinions about the coach and his staff. The constant name-calling for these differences of opinion is exhausting. I am not "white-knighting" for Ystar - but he is telling the truth about Milroe and Ty and expressing his concerns. He was branded racist at some point and you guys can't see anything else. We should be able to disagree without acting like children and treating one another like we are fans of another team here to create discord. Peace out, Bama-nation. Ps... I have been referring to our coach as "Andy Griffith" - and I am sticking to it. He isn't just a kinder gentler player's coach version of Saban - he is the polar opposite of Saban and Cignetti. In the words of our coach, "Golly gee, we have a good team." Peace
I bet Saban is broken-hearted right now
It's bad - ain't gonna argue it
A butt-whooping is happening

Brother - it is the primary metric used in evaluating talent UNTIL they arrive on campus you don't know what you truly have. We have not developed these guys - that isn't on the guys - that is on the coaches
How many time have they punted? They have kept the ball the entire game
This is the thing - we had the most talented roster in the league and we have completely wasted it
