How much pressure can a guy with guaranteed $90,000,000 and a guy with $30,000,000 really have? Dear goodness, please let me experience that kind of pressure.

The key word from the OP is “now”. These 18 year old kids have no memory of Florida’s championships. They’ve seen a train of fired Florida coaches.
The same for Tennessee. I wouldn’t dare put Mizzou in the Big 6, but an 18 year old kid has seen Mizzou accomplish as much as Tennessee and Florida. Auburn is the closest to being in but their bad seasons are so bad in recent memory it’s hard to put them there.
Finally I’d say the big 6 are the big 6 because when you beat them or even lose close it’s a respect builder. No victory over a mid 6 at this time gives much SEC or national clout.

Your best chance of a schedule like that is if we go to 20 and treat it as basically 2 conferences.

It’s almost like the main teams who were paying massive money to create a competitive roster depth had the best teams of all time. So strange…nah im sure it was just the winning culture. Not the cash and cars

Welcome to the b12 LIV football Friday night matchup brought to you by the Saudi Fund.
34 teams and the ACC/B12 (counting ND) still don’t have the talent of the SEC.
Every conference game there’s 8-10 more NFL players on the field than the little 2 of the “power 4” and 4 more NFL players than the B10.
It was idiocy to go to a 9th game without a massive pay day.

This sounds like an AD saying whatever he needs to say to get $.
50 year old coaches aggressively pursuing coeds rarely ends well.

Well said, they are all leaches who’d eat their own at the thought of their stomach grumbling.
NIL began in July 2021.
From the 2022 draft to present the SEC (with less teams mind you) has had 265 players drafted vs B10 222 and the ACC 126.
My main point is supported by the evidence - the NIL has not neutered the SEC in its overall talent depth vs the other conferences. The SEC still has the most talent, their lack of success is primarily coach related in the big 2.

The last time I checked there were 7 rounds.

LSU starts hot and then Lane leaks rumors about interest from the Dallas Cowboys, derailing the season.
Ole Miss goes 10-2 & makes another playoff run.
Vandy goes 9-3 proving they were more than the mini QB.
Bama goes 8-4 and the Dabo era begins.
SC fires Beamer in the tunnel after the Clemson game.

The coaching has neutered the SEC, not the NIL. The SEC will still lap the field in the NFL draft. Therefore it’s not a talent issue. We still have the most talented conference in every major sport.
The NIL has shrunk the advantage but it’s still a strong SEC advantage. The difference is the head coaching. The B10 is doing more with less. The B10 has better elite coaching candidates than the SEC.
Saban was elite talent plus elite coaching. Bama still has elite talent but there’s not a gump alive who wouldn’t rejoice if Saban walked back through the door today.
If Lane can avoid the SA charges and distracting NFL rumors then he could be the next great. I wouldn’t bet pocket change on that.

They will lose 2 of these home games: FSU, Georgia, Auburn, A&M.
They will lose 1 of these away games:
LSU, Vandy, Tennessee.
I think the most reasonable betting number is 8.5 wins.

That’s a fair argument.
If Day and Smart retired today I think OSU’s title odds stay the same and Georgia would slip.
The B10’s advantage is they have a large lower middle class and the SEC has a large upper middle class. The top
Programs have an easier path than the SEC as far as physicality.
That said Cignetti is the only coach im aware of that places the premium on availability. No contact on Monday and Friday. No practice ever longer than 1hr 45 min. Excessive film training a minimal contact. He’s got it figured out.

The NIL has nothing to do with the reality that the B10 has better coaches in both sports than the SEC.
Top 4 football:
1. Cignetti
2. Day
3. Smart
4. Lanning
They’ve got strong program builders: Painter, Underwood, Izzo, Hoiberg and May looks like a killer for Michigan.
Compare that to the SEC who has Cal at Arkansas on a sunset tour, Kentucky who scares nobody, an Auburn that needs dad to take the wheel and a solid Tennessee and Bama.
NIL didn’t do this.

We play chess.
Most teams set up their rotation for the weekend, we play for the midweek game against the mid-Major schools.
