That’s a fair argument.

If Day and Smart retired today I think OSU’s title odds stay the same and Georgia would slip.

The B10’s advantage is they have a large lower middle class and the SEC has a large upper middle class. The top
Programs have an easier path than the SEC as far as physicality.

That said Cignetti is the only coach im aware of that places the premium on availability. No contact on Monday and Friday. No practice ever longer than 1hr 45 min. Excessive film training a minimal contact. He’s got it figured out.
The NIL has nothing to do with the reality that the B10 has better coaches in both sports than the SEC.

Top 4 football:
1. Cignetti
2. Day
3. Smart
4. Lanning

They’ve got strong program builders: Painter, Underwood, Izzo, Hoiberg and May looks like a killer for Michigan.

Compare that to the SEC who has Cal at Arkansas on a sunset tour, Kentucky who scares nobody, an Auburn that needs dad to take the wheel and a solid Tennessee and Bama.

NIL didn’t do this.
We play chess.

Most teams set up their rotation for the weekend, we play for the midweek game against the mid-Major schools.
College sports - where the scorpion and the frog fable is played out again and again and again.
Mizzou basketball 8 postseason appearances since 2011.

Arkansas football 7 postseason appearances since 2011.

Even our laughable basketball program is better than your football team.
Glass houses.
What are we doing at this point?
Sarks got rehabilitated by Saban and now he has become the rehabilitator of coaches. I actually love it!
Put on 15 pounds and he can have a 10 year career as a TE and gadget guy. Sean Payton would make this guy a legend. If he lands on the wrong team he will be selling insurance in 2028.
Eh, all 6 of Mizzou’s combine participants were transfers. In this age, the draft still reflects NIL, development and talent acquisition.
This the same Orvosky who said Mahomes was too “boom or bust” who plays too “recess style” for the NFL.

Or who was “just not sure I see a franchise QB” in Josh Allen.

Yeah, that guy can kick rocks. I wouldn’t take his assessment of any QB prospect as a vote of real life confidence.
The level of talent in the SEC is still so much greater. Sure the B10 has 4 substantial programs now, but the depth is still night and day between the SEC and the rest.

The B12 & ACC should only get 2 guaranteed spots when we expand.

The G6 isn’t even playing the same sport.

Players invited to NFL Combine by conference via McMuphy

SEC 115
Big Ten 83
ACC 50
Big 12 45
MAC 5
American 4

If we went to 18 teams to be even with the B10 and added the most rumored (UNC and Clemson) we’d have 126 & the ACC would fall to 39.

I wouldn’t expect to see Mizzou on here if it was a top 250 list.

Fun fact, we avenged our heavyweight loss to Mount Saint Mary’s (of the MAAC) by beating them 34-3…before getting shoved in a locker by FAU.
Objectively this list has to be:
1. Cignetti (he has had unprecedented success with what will likely end up his least talented teams over the next 5 years)
2. Day (tOSU is the only guaranteed playoff team over the next 10 years).
3. Smart (He’s the best of the south and is on his way to being the next Saban).
4. Freeman (charisma and the Irish have the best playoff setup to sell recruits).
5. Cristobal (for 2 years he has refused to leave Miami for blue bloods. He’s a QB whisperer with top 5 NIL to reload every year at QB and Miami sells itself).
6. Lanning (copy/paste Cristobal, he has built a machine and has endless Nike$).
7. Dabo (When Saban left Dabo was targeted before anyone else for a reason. Close to an auto playoff spot).
8. Sarkisian (I think if Bama could choose they’d trade coaches today for him. Sarks has the formula & $ to never get out-talented).
9. Deboer (he’s still growing as a coach and already getting some big wins).
10. Kiffin (he’s never done it all on his own without inviting distractions to his program. If he starts off hot NFL rumors will be swarming LSU by Halloween. If he was capable of truly planting himself he could be top 5).
We be careful out there gentlemen.
Kentucky’s stat proves 2 things:
1. You have to pay players to be great. Always have, always will.

2. They’ve always robbed Peter (football) to pay Paul (basketball).
The SEC will once again have the most players drafted, the best ratings and be closest to the talent pool.

We still have the best kids, we’ve lost our edge on bagmen which has equaled up the talent.

Where we aren’t dominant any longer are the head coaches. We now have 11 of the top 25 highest paid head coaches & the B10 has 9.

We can rob each other, but no longer appear to be able to pay for top B10/ACC targets.
American people: please arrest the pedophile swamp for which we have overwhelming evidence for prosecution!

Congress: best we can do is 6year QBs and NIL reform.
We
SEC fans: let him cook!
My man graduated high school in 2014, he will be 30 in the bowl game. pension eligible.

Being granted the extra year by a judge who’s an Ole Miss fan is perfection.

I fully believe Lock played like absolute garbage for the last 2 weeks of practice to prepare the Seahawks defense for Drake Maye. #TeamPlayer #MIZ
