He isn’t a ladder climber, but he is a challenge hunter. He wants to do it at the highest levels. You make a good point, but I think he’d jump at the chance to do it on the highest stage.

Look at his career - he has turned around and won at as a head coach:
JUCO, D2, FCS, low G5, high G5, B12. He is one more step up from doing what almost no coach has ever done.
Fritz is a great freaking coach.

Insane that Arkansas didn’t take him, he could easily win 8 games there as a floor. He would have feasted at Auburn too.
That’d be true if the plays they were hurt on weren’t designed QB runs with an All American RB standing behind them.

Drink’s commitment to run the QB into the teeth of the defense has cost us 4 starting QBs in his tenure. 4 QBs injured on 4 QB runs. I can’t tell you how frustrating it is knowing even if he lands a top transfer he will injure him within 3 games on a useless QB run to the short side of the field “to keep the defense on its toes”.

I don’t buy for a second that the new OC will do anything but run Drink’s QB killing scheme.
Baker’s defense gets exposed by older QBs. If he doesn’t have NFL dbs all over the field he is toast. He struck gold at Mizzou on the backs of 3 NFL quality dbs we had for 2 years.

Everyone gave him the credit and here we are today.

Is Drink a young Mark Stoops?

Cash in on 2 10-win seasons which massively increased financial investment into the facilities, coaches and NIL…to end up losing to every top 20 team it sees.

Just as Stoops agent flirted every year, here we are.

We are locked into a prison we built.
WRONG, he is owed 80% of whatever he has left on his contract. If fired before Dec 1, 2027 he is owed $36 million.

Thats assuming he doesn’t hit the LIFETIME auto year extension for 8 wins.

His buyout is $5mil if he jumps ship on us.

Basically we signed a young Mark Stoops.
His kryptonite is him calling the plays because his OC left. Drink is a good CEO, avg coach and horrific OC.

We are down 6 with the ball and our top 3 receivers and a flood of other dudes out.
Who’s more at fault?

The freshmen that won’t throw to the sticks on 3rd or the head coach who calls multiple routes which don’t advance past the sticks?
The game is too fast for him.

He hasn’t gotten pressured hardly at all YET he still doesn’t work through his progressions.
1. The G5 teams do an FCS style playoff.

2. All non playoff P4 teams participate in a bowl conference challenge giving every team a 13th game with the SEC vs B10 and the B12 vs the ACC every year which pairs each conferences’ best to worst team via conference standings.

A higher percent of the $ goes to the winning conference and the losing conference gets a lesser amount to be distributed to players like a Christmas bonus.

This year the matchups would have been better than most bowls:

Michigan vs Texas
USC vs Vandy
Iowa vs Mizzou
Illinois vs Tennessee
Minnesota vs LSU
Washington vs Kentucky
Nubs vs Florida
Northwestern vs Auburn
Penn St vs Miss St
UCLA vs SC
Rutgers vs Arky

The Bowls financially bid, competing with one another on the games for being the host sites. If a bottom threshold isn’t met then the teams themselves can bid against each other to host it.

The 4 B10 teams who didn’t make it play each other and the bowl $ gets put into the overall pot with the winning conference getting 75%.

I really hoped Kirby was the reason we’d run QB to the short side…poop.

He is either going to die on the vine or go full Dabo Darkmode and take a mid level SEC/B10 team who is ready to spend and become a demon.

Fritz is a top 10 coach, he has built at every level: D2, FCS, G5, P4. He’s got a good 7-10 years left to make an AD in the B10/SEC look really smart.

Analysts are simply paid Rant Posters.

The sooner you realize that the easier it is to digest.
Circle back after the draft…and recruiting rankings, and the majority of difference makers move out of the South.
Charlie Strong was the ultimate pendulum hire from Mack in every way possible.

That’ll be 139 years of life arguing about play calling during the game.
Never underestimate the ability of KC and STL liberal politicians to blow it and blame others. Elite.
