No. It only ignores hard-coded rules because it's been told to do that by a human.

A piece of software never arbitrarily executes anything.

Computer programming is science, not wu. There is nothing "magical" about technology though it can seem that way to the uninitiated I suppose.

Show me how a Microsoft .dll or Unix .so file can become self aware. That's essentially what a LLM is but much larger and more compressed. That's it.

This model gets loaded into memory by a controller that (if you're using ChatGPT or Anthropic) you interface with via the web. The model has the information. The controller is software written by ChatGPT (or whoever your provider is) that communicates with this model to get an answer that is useful to you. That's it. Nothing magical about it.

If you're concerned about the "controller" bit being self-aware or whatever, well then the controller that is taking the words you type into a TigerDroppings textarea element would be just as capable as being self-aware which of course it's not.
