Let me ask directly: Do the non-LSU fans on this board want LSU kicked out of the SEC?

I know there will be plenty of jokes in response, but I'm genuinely curious whether the fans' sentiments align with those of the egghead presidents. I think a lot of folks will say yes but not mean it.
Explain your answer if you want, but be honest about the reasons. If you want one less tough game on your schedule, just say so. If you think LSU is a just a problem child incapable of redemption, fine. If you think LSU should bend the knee, ok. If you just hate LSU fans, cool.

No, not in the slightest. But I also want all SEC member institutions to follow the rules that the conference has established. And no, before you ask I don't have any proof of LSU breaking any rules. I am speaking generally.

Does Alabama know you're being logical?

No. Tailgating at Tiger Stadium alone is worth it.

Nope. But LSU admin needs to get their house in order. The whole we didn’t do anything wrong stick is whistling past the graveyard. Like it or not, the SEC office took actions from the LSU athletic office that went specifically against things that the SEC office had released publicly personally. LSU fans want to portray themselves as the victims, but it was a complete mishandling of the situation by their administration as much as it was by the SEC.

The vast majority of posters who want LSU punished in some way are incapable of articulating why they even want LSU punished. Other than simple dislike of those involved.

I would hope that the leadership at Alabama, who doubtless is privy to a lot of information that I am not, is acting with the same basic desires that I am - wanting to keep the conference whole, while also expecting all the members to follow the rules.

I don’t want LSU punished. Once they stepped in line, it should’ve all faded away.

Do I want them kicked out? No
Would I laugh my arse off if they were? You bet your arse

I think this is a FAFO situation.
You hired a coach who can't take the word no. Backed him with politicians in BR and DC. Then challenged the conference and commissioner with LSU booster attorneys that no one believes wasn't in on it from the LSU admin side of it. Put the commissioner on the stand and embarrassed him. This was after the SEC had privately and publicly told LSU to chill the frick out with pushing to get these kids eligible multiple times before it got that far.
Then after all that you finally backed down at the last minute and you wonder why the SEC is pissed? Look in the mirror.

No because losing LSU would weaken the SEC and be the first domino of it's collapse....but I do want to see LSU get humbled and stop being the skeezy car salesman of the SEC.

If the conference is going to govern from a position of hurt feelings, then that's bad for all of us.
Step back and look at this for a moment. The conference has sued a member institution and threatened expulsion multiple times despite no conference rules ever being violated. Why is that? Why even create rules against certain behaviors if you're just going to posture and make threats before the rules are even violated?
That looks weak and incompetent.

Lack of Institutional Control
Conduct unbecoming an SEC member institution
Insubordination
General frickery and douchebaggery
PUT EM OUT SANKEY!!!!

Would there continue to be an SECRant? If not, then no. I like this place.

He embarrassed himself being that poorly prepared to answer questions about eligibility rules and the athletes situations that had him hauled in there in the first place.
For that reason alone hes unfit to lead the conference. Absolutely fricking whiffed on what 5for5 is. Wish I had the quote/testimony handy.

No. LSU is a charter member and brings big football and baseball. LSU like everyone else has to fall in line with conference rules.

I agree 100%. That’s why I said it was mishandled on both sides. However, let’s not play games and pretend that LSU wasn’t urging the suit in Louisiana courts brought by the players. That was LsU poking the bear because they thought they could get away with it. Does it seem unfair considering the Chambliss ruling making him eligible? I would get why LSU fans and AD felt that way. But there had never been a public release from the SEC office before, trying to bring the slightest bit of sanity to a player eligibility question before. LSU immediately went against the rest of the conference. It’s not surprise it was received poorly. Though the guideline was never technically violated, LSU made it pretty clear the intent was to do so. That escalated the situation dramatically. I think it all should’ve been dealt with behind closed doors subsequent to that, but I don’t know if it was possible.
