In the LSU case, the suit and leaving open roster spots happened immediately after the SEC released guidelines for member institutions.
If you're speaking of the player suit, that happened prior to the SEC guidelines, as did any potential recruitment of the players. The guidelines were in response to those actions.
LSU did have open roster spots after the guidelines were released, as did several other SEC programs.

No I don't want LOLSU kicked out.
Damn Sidewalk, take a breather. The OP asked non-lsu fans. Quit refuting everything. You sound like a melting bitch. Then again, you sound like a melting bitch most of the time.

See you are still missing the point. LSU back channeled the connect these players to these attorneys.
This is an opinion and not proven at all.
Even if true, it also doesn't appear to violate conference rules.

In the eyes of the SEC (other member institutions) and Sankey, it is no different than LSU dragging the commissioner to Baton Rouge for a show trial with the intent to embarrass the commissioner.
He embarrassed himself, he couldn't even define what an amateur is, among other things.
On one hand, the SEC says it wants the power to enforce its own rules. On the other, they are jumping to conclusions, threatening expulsions when no rules have been broken, can't define the affected classes within their own rules, and are inconsistent on eligibility matters.
If you want to be an enforcement entity, you have to be responsible. Otherwise, this will just be the NCAA 2.0 and courts will undermine them at every turn.

No, I am excited to play in BR and given its an adjacent state and we have never had much of a rivalry outside of college baseball for whose the best program.
I may change my tune in 4-5 years but right now bring on all they can throw at us.

Fair enough. I forget that many here like yourself are incapable of intelligent discourse. I expect too much from this board at times.

Don’t really care but, after 15 years of LSU fans saying we don’t belong, the karma would be hilarious.
I’ve yet to meet a rational LSU fan.

OP specifically asked non-lsu fans. Perhaps you should go back to the shitty school you graduated from and ask for your money back. They have failed you. You obviously lack an understanding of the English language

Schools that should have no say in the matter:
Arkansas
Missouri
Oklahoma
South Carolina
Texas
Texas A&M
None of them belong in the SEC and are members only because they managed to slip in the back door. Go back to your own lame conferences and take your seats at the kids' table..

1. I would want you to stop misbehaving and stop doing things that show you want to challenge the rules. Instead of just doing what the other schools have done, you insist on seeing how far you can go. It's obvious. Lane did it and now your basketball coach is doing it. Your president and AD seem to be puppets with little say in these matters.
2. If you don't do that, then yes. I'd be fine with you enjoying yourselves elsewhere. It'd be your loss. You obviously don't want to accept what is demanded of you which is demanded of the rest of us. No one else is doing what you are at the moment.

Has there been consistent rule following by all members?

No not at all LSU is an important part of the SEC.
With that said, the whole Wade thing from his re-hiring to him pushing for professional players is ridiculous. LSU should have higher standards than Wade.

Nah, I don’t think they should be kicked out or even punished. I think teams should be admonished or corrected if they’ve overstepped any rules and regulations, but once that’s been corrected, there’s no point in trying to make them pay. I think people are being kind of hyperbolic and over the top about it more than likely to get a rise out of LSU fans on here.

Alabama played a pro basketball player. A&M rostered a pro basketball player.
LSU never rostered or played any pros.

Which is what exactly? What is LSU doing that is bothering this conference so much? They aren't breaking rules.
It's just that vague "something" that folks like you talk about, but no one can actually define.
Posted on 10/14/26 at 11:37 am to SidewalkTiger
The Alabama situation was taken care of. SEC didn't have to get involved with it.
But now the SEC sees they can't rely on the NCAA to win in court. So they have looked at what the IVY League did and the ruling they got and said that we can do the same thing.
Your politicians are trying to win votes. And that's far more important to them than what is ultimately good for LSU. It's sad.
