And with 24 teams, Arkansas still won't make it!

nah need to keep moving forward and evolving

Expand to 48 in 2030.

Perhaps the Gators will have a chance to get blown out by Memphis in a play in game if they do that

IMO - 8 teams was the sweet spot. 12 was an odd compromise. 24 is just ridiculous.

Although I can see it working if we cut regular season games and make schedules fairly equal, as much as possible. And nix conf. championship games.

It’s the same thing that’s currently happening with movies and video games: quantity over quality.

Corporate executives want to maximize profit and squeeze out every dollar they possibly can out of customers while overstimulating them with the cheapest, lowest value product possible.

So Utah goes from making zero actual playoff appearances to getting in 8 of the 12 years. What an absolute joke this is going to be.

I for one look forward to the arguments of which 6th place B10/SEC team got shafted by the G6 getting a second team in. I’m in!

Time to immediately do away with P4 vs G5 games

Make it 6 conference games
And
2 vs ACC
2 vs BIG
2 vs B12

I’m just throwing shite against the wall here but please for the love of God don’t give me Chattanooga in November anymore — whatever we have to do to avoid that is fine with me.

An SEC Champion could potentially play 13 or even 14 conference foes.

That's beyond difficult

Kind of makes the idea of conferences moot now.

I don't watch the first round now, so no. I won't watch the first two rounds then, and maybe not the first three rounds. I wonder what kind of ratings the initial round got last season.

Yes. I am too lazy to try to find the information.

Yep, I pointed that out earlier. I mean, the SEC has 16 teams today, the Big 10 has 18. How’s anyone going to be able to say they’re the undisputed champs of the conference? Rarely does just one team go undefeated. What you’ll have are co-champions most years unless they go down a long list of increasingly absurd tiebreakers.

And even if you are crowned conference champions, so what? What benefit is there?

Going forward, the only thing that matters will be getting to at least 8 or 9 wins so you get one of the 24 playoff slots.

In addition to killing conference championship games, and the point of even having conferences in the first place, this will also be the final nail in the coffin of the bowl games. The top 24 teams in the country will all be in playoff games. What’s left will be a bunch of 7-5 or 6-6 teams where most of the roster opts out so they can get ready to hit the portal and hopefully land a spot on a playoff caliber team next season.

You can't gamble on games where you don't know which players are trying, which are opting out, which are going to play 4th string.

You can’t?? And why is it you can’t?? I made quite a few wagers on meaningless bowl games last year. Won some, lost some, but definitely gambled on them.
