Such a fricking stupid idea

That is such a ridiculously horrible idea.

It’s finished. College football is now officially a bastion of soul less, hyper-corporatized mass entertainment.
In a way, I see this as a sad reflection of the younger generations of college football audiences. They’re shallow, superficial zombies who live on social media and want instant gratification. They want as much stimulatory overload as possible. This is a way for the corporate powers to capitalize on that.

So gay.
Most years have several 4 loss teams in the top 24 after week 12/13.

It’s the beginning of a new era.
It's all about gambling.
You can't gamble on games where you don't know which players are trying, which are opting out, which are going to play 4th string.
Now the teams will think they have a shot at the championship and keep their main players busting their arse.

Hell, LSU will be there after week 9

We’re going to have teams sit players rivalry week just like the last game in the NFL aren’t we

Gators still won’t be able to make the CFP

There was nothing wrong with 4 team playoff and I was against expansion but the 12 team playoff has actually been pretty good and fun.
Doubling that so coaches can get their bonuses easier, and networks and conferences make more money is so extremely short sighted. Enjoy it corpos. You’re killing the golden goose money printer by sucking out what is and always has been the true soul of CFB. The regular season.
Who can’t WAIT for 8-4 teams to get in
It’s all such a joke

Kinda funny how the fans, who are in near unison on this matter, have zero say-so in how this shakes out.
It’s a giant money grab, with no influence given to the folks who are actually responsible for that money. Crazy.

Yep, ironically the only way to kill this is for there somehow to be a grassroots movement within the fanbases to not watch. That would take a Saban like figure to convince college football fans to follow through on the threat, but he works for ESPN now.

Eh I didn’t watch any of the first round last year. Watching JMU and Tulane get axe murdered wasn’t exactly must see TV
