History says we will end up no better than 7 - 5 this season and no better than 4 - 5 in SEC play since Drinkwitz as Mizzu's coach has never beaten a team that had a winning SEC record that season.

Our backup I dont think is someone either that can excel if the blocking is real bad. I know he was a freshman but Jones looked prone to bad stuff under duress in the KY game last season. Constantly throwing short of the 1st down spot on 3rd down where the player wasnt in position to advance the ball and tried to give the ball to KY a couple of times but they dropped what would have been picks.
I don't think we have the type of QB that can win a game when things are breaking down constantly. That takes a pretty good QB to do that against the better SEC defenses.

I will reserve judgment a little but I still have faith this offense can be decent the rest of the season if the O line doesn't have another game like that again. Defense doesn't look that good but I wouldn't throw this in with any of Napier's seasons as far as the first 5 games.
2022: Lost to KY at home and to TN on the road. Did beat a good Utah at home but still not a good start to the season. (Napiers best 5 game start)
2023: Got smoked at KY and handled at Utah.
2024: Destroyed by Miami at home and handled at A&M.
2025: Lost to a G6 team at home, lost at LSU and got smoked at Miami. We did upset TX but that doesn't make up for that train wreck during the prior 3 games.

I rewatched a good bit of our running plays and when we did run right a few times and Ugorji's job was just to take on the edge only I saw a couple of times he had good position locked on the edge and he still couldn't even move the guy to prevent him from disrupting the play. Nothing to do with speed or any moves he just couldn't control the 250 pound edge he has 50 plus pounds on to allow the play to have a chance. It was also a bad look how the line had no push at all on that 4th down QB sneak we got stuffed on.

I hope so. SC might have some fight in them for this game though. The players know their coach is done if they lose this game to us

It is crazy seeing those plays with DBs like Flowers moving like they are wearing concrete cleats when the WR turns upfield. Not sure the defense they were playing but McClain seems to get lost a lot also.

Sumrall is definitely pissed looking at the press conference. I am sure a lot of players are going to be called out in addition to the whole team effort when they review this train wreck of a game.

Yep this game is very big now if we are going to have a good season. I am sure Sumrall will be questioning the manhood of some players this week.

Yep he can win when he has the better players by far. They are like Bama under Saban before Georgia got good with the talent difference to the rest of the conference.

I am curious to see what exactly was happening early in that game with our offense. I did see the WRs and TEs screwing up blocks real early besides the O line. A RB can't do squat when you get dominated like that

The offense at least has some real good SEC games before this disaster. Did the offense save the defense from this in the Ole Miss game?

It looks really bad. We will see how we finish up. Rushing attack just totally shut down this game.

Yep - hope we can recover and beat SC and that Ole Miss wasn't fools gold like it was in 2024.

Yep the blocking has been straight crap this game. Hopefully this can be corrected or the blueprint is out how to shut our run game down.

Baugh has 0 yards on eight carries since that initial run. We will have no chance to score enough if we don't start run blocking.
