You might think that an extension is warranted after a coach wins a championship.

Short Horns are going to regret this becasue Texas is really just the new Tennessee.

WTF do they actually think he is the next Nick Saban, Lol. Good grief. More power to him I guess. He is in the SEC now so we will find out soon enough. GEAUX TIGERS!

there are very, very, very few head coaches worth that amount of money. And one of them (probably the ONLY one) just retired. If I'm the Texas AD, I say abide by your current contract, and if you routinely are in the playoffs, we'll talk about an extension and raise. But he was paid plenty enough before. If he wants to leave, then let him.

All they had to do was give him an open bar and they could’ve saved millions

This is what he dreamed about when he went into coaching. Just a football coach and a gazillionaire.

Amazing contract, if he can continue to stay clean and not resort to alcohol. This guy was in ashes until Saban revived him at Alabama. In fact, he should give Saban half of everything he makes because he saved his career.

Over paying coaches must be a thing in the Lone Star state.

Every state. Remember the moron that signed that big deal with Jimbo at aTm? Where is that clown at these days?
user avatar
Most of them still on the board at aTm.

Imagine being that dumb to give him a contract like that. He won’t even win a division championship much less a conference or national championship. Welcome to the big leagues!

He's definitely falling off the wagon with those perks. The pressure of the job now that he's reached the playoffs with a cakewalk schedule will be immense.

He's gonna go 9 and 3 one year, and the pressure will drive him back to hookers and blow, and he cant handle his hookers and blow.
