My older brother got me into a festival downtown (called Bonne Fete maybe?) around 1999 where Better than Ezra was playing. I was 14 or 15 years old and my brother was at LSU. The concert was at the parking lot by the water tower where the LSU Art Museum/Tsunami is now on Lafayette Street. I remember that experience vividly. My first real concert, and BTE was still huge at the time.

My first real show too, I was 13 and close to the stage and remember a mosh pit formed which I thought was weird for a BTE concert.

Going to the Mall of La on opening week in the mid/late 1990s. That was absolutely nuts

Was there as well, thought it was the coolest thing at the time. Spent so many teenage days at that mall.

Chelsea’s being at the north gates. Awesome place then

Used to eat at Chelsea’s north gate all the time my freshman year at LSU.

Saw Ryan Bingham play at the overpass Chelsea’s location with a crowd of maybe 100 people. He won an academy award not long after that.

I remember the old Broadmoor theater, Belmont Hotel right before it really went down, Giamanco’s on government.

I miss old Baton Rouge

Was going 300 mph at the time of crash

That flight tracker said their groundspeed was 300mph but also had their descent at around 11,000 feet per minute. That is basically a nose straight down rate of descent like that PJ that crashed in Philadelphia earlier this year.

That ring camera didn’t look like the plane was in a straight nosedive though. Idk it happened too quick, hard to tell in that short footage.

Why was it going north? Was it trying to do the impossible turn?

Took off on runway 27 (due west) and probably had a departure procedure (very common for south Florida airports) and had specific waypoints and ATC instructions before heading on his route.

That the same bowl game that Durham NC hosted twice?

Once*

But don’t let the the little historical blip of WWII affect that

And it was in Texas for covid. Otherwise a pretty good history in Pasadena

doubt it was full, eight hours isn’t that long of a flight for a scud but it had plenty

Could have tankered some fuel to Hawaii

why the shelter in place?

It was flying to Hawaii so probably loaded with fuel. Capacity is about 38,000 gallons of jet fuel.

Also probably verifying what type of cargo was onboard to ensure it doesn’t present a separate risk to people.

You people are so dumb. He’s legit businessman that’s incredibly accomplished. I’d rather this than a life long bureaucrat

He is a former business professor, but what business has he run? Genuinely curious, can’t find anything online.
I’m too young to have attended. Bought a button off eBay. “Stolen valor”

I spent a weekend there one night.

I have been blessed with the opportunity to dine at many great restaurants around the world.

Waffle House is probably my favorite restaurant anywhere.

to Nuss or not to Nuss

That is the question. Whether ‘tis nobler in the mind to suffer the (bad) slings and arrows of outrageous (mis)fortune or to take (better) arms against a sea of troubles. And by opposing end them. To die. To sleep. ??

Been thinking about trying Oceania, where do they fall on the luxury scale?

Just below Seabourn, Regent, Silversea but above celebrity, princess

They supposedly have the food at sea, so if you’re a foodie that could be attractive.

They have a business class cabin adjacent to the bar. Had better seats than coach.

I rode it from New Orleans to Mobile roundtrip and upgraded for $20 each way. Had some British tourists sitting behind me, a few older couples, and older solo travelers and maybe 4 empty seats in business.

I loved it, nice scenery, able to get some reading done, listen to music. It was way better than driving. Would definitely do it again.

I doubt that is a 75 year old uniform, but Austria and Switzerland have a TON of nazi shite for sale. Like in the open, no secret code.

It is illegal to have nazi paraphernalia in Germany, but right across the borders you can see as much as you want or don’t want
