I agree. Lane Kiffin is not a magician. When he accepted the position he told the media and the fan base that even with the NIL build, it was going to take time. These coaches and players have all had to learn a new system and build depth moving forward. Lofty expectations and instant gratification do not always happen as fast as you would like. There is still a lot of football to be played and hopefully we will play better as we go one game at a time. We will need a little luck and not lose anyone else to season ending injuries because the depth is not in place yet. Even at 13 million a year and a 50 million NIL pot should we expect a playoff team in his first year.

I’d like to find out if his history would reflect on batted down passes at the line of scrimmage. If I were him, I would ask Drew Brees to give him a clinic on how to get a pass off without getting it batted down. I don’t recall seeing as many batted passes by a quarterback for LSU, or anyone else.

You have to like the fight they showed when they were down 21-0. In years past the Saint would have shut down and fallen apart. You have to like the effort that was shown on the road. In a hostile environment against a very good Detroit team.

I trust that Lane and staff will have everyone prepared for what will be a great game. Chambliss is a rhythm QB that if we get the pressure on him and hit him, and not let them establish a running game we should be able to get out of Oxford on top. They also have one of the best kickers in the nation that is money. We just need to make plays, and stop their big plays.
