especially since he already goes to school right on campus.

Not this crappy statement again....

I would like to go back to the days that La kids were slept on by recruiting services.

Like Benny Logan

None of the services had him listed iirc, only a couple of posters here were raving about this stud playing in a small school.
No more excuses.

Just win baby

Well get to the playoffs this year

These guys live a miserable life despite the money. Having 3-4 phones and having to stare at the screen for 16 hours a day sounds terrible.

I think it's even worse to go around tracking the social media of HS kids and interacting with them day in and day out... like their college decision will be some global event...

But hey people make their choices

oh man I remember being at work secretly refreshing the recruiting pages, TD going down, cussing Bush, Coach O and Pete Carroll , colleagues wondering why I was so pissed - all over a high school kid's decision
He can start by winning the season opener for a change
You can see this both ways

When you have a 12 seed or a non blueblood team making a run one of these years there will be questions about legitimacy

Or

You dont have to worry about going through a brutal regular season where your chances of MNC game used to be diminished if you get a L in the season opener or along the way. Now all we need is to get to playoffs and hope for favorable matchups like ND
It's like Matt Mauck + 2 NFL receivers + peak JV + the nasty 2003 defense.

Yes that's what I thought too but was not too sure. That was a monster WR class, we got BTJ, Nabors and Hilton and not much attention was given to him.
Didn't he go by a different last name when he was a HS recruit?

Or do I have him confused with someone else
Wasn't he also using a flip phone and not having any social media presence.

It takes some eccentricities to walk away from millions and retire at the prime of his career

No one should care anymore what a kid says until they sign their name on the dotted line.

Commitments to a school are useless now a days and a kids word means absolutely NOTHING!!!

We keep saying this over and over during every recruiting cycle and yet keep coming back to this board for more

It's like an alcoholic's promise in the morning... by evening he is back for happy hours..

2nd place U

This was true during most of Les' tenure. We were in running for so many highly rated guys and then find out we were #2. It seems recruiting has come a full circle.

If this was really just a ploy to get the bag from Michigan why not choose another school to get the number as high as possible. It’s known lsu isn’t a top spender in the NIL game. Why not pretend to want to go to Oregon or Ohio state and get a 10 million dollar bag to make Michigan go to 20?

Maybe LSU and UM were like 1a and 1b on his wishlist. If UM ends up paying like they did he gets a big bag, if they decide not to pursue he gets to play at a school he likes - for just a smaller bag.
Wasn't he committed to us and flipped on NSD? Or was one of those 'silent commits' that O lost?

Hoping to see some Louisiana kids shooting up the charts in a year or two. They always do
Chase Daniel and Reesing were also both from Texas IIRC

Who would believe Mizzou and Kansas was a #2 vs #3 matchup during that crazy season

Offense Defense Special Teams

Take me back

Offense?

It used to be so frustrating to watch our offense come out flat or have stupid penalties and the cardiac cats keeping it close till late in the 4th qtr.

The 2007 Arky game was especially bad in all facets of the game...

But then last few years its been just as frustrating with the defense.

But isn't cocaine the drug of choice for the upper executives, high rollers, politicians, tech bros, investment bankers - pretty much the upper echelon white demographic? I mean that's how it is portrayed in the movies
He has been putting in so much work reading defenses since his first year here and it shows on the field
