He’ll also be broke because a civil suit will be forthcoming I’m sure.

You can get 25 years for trafficking drugs, I think that’s a minimum amount for killing someone due to your stupidity. If he was driving the speed limit and an accident just happened to occur and he had a little too much to drink then yea that would be an extreme sentence.
But he was over double the legal alcohol limit going 156 in a 45. That’s being plain stupid

BULL SH1D!!!!
it keeps this ahole off the streets (literally) for two decades. I would absolutely be worried for my kids’ lives if I knew this guy was driving in the same town as them!

He deserves life and to give every penny to the victims family after this

Here’s an idea- let’s offer him a plea deal:
20 years in prison, OR we put you in a car, ram you at 130mph and burn you alive. Oh, and you can have your pet with you if you’d like.

Bama fans rushing to defend their player. If it were say...Cam Newton, im sure their opinion would be different

Your comprehension seems really low.

Uhh, no.
You must have missed the story posted earlier about a much less horrific DUI death at the hands of a prominent Las Vegas real estate broker who was sentenced to 8-20.
LINK
Even the defense attorney asked for 6 years.
He also had prior tickets and a DUI
Albeit Ruggs was going an insane amount of speed. I think Ruggs will get less than the linked guy, but he will be in jail years.
I agree with your other comments though.
Another thing to note is Gragson paid 21 million in a settlement to the woman he killed

Maybe it will deter some people and create some very little good.

Laura Bush ran a stop sign and killed a family of four. She did not go to prison.
What Ruggs did is far worse, and he should go to prison. My point is only that it's not true that 26 years is the minimum time someone should get for killed someone due to their stupidity.

I'm not sure that's enough time
...and with that, we're off to the races ITT.

He just sat there as a person burned to death because he is a pile of shite. He deserves a few decades in the clink.

get a grip. it's more than enough time.
I wonder what her family will think when he walks free and she is still locked in that casket.

I agree. People do less time for actual murders. This was an accident, albeit avoidable. I hate the witch hunt against impaired driving. It is reprehensible but MADD has made it out to be akin to terrorism. When in reality, texting and driving is more dangerous. I bet half those mad mothers text behind the wheel everyday.
Outrageous penalties like 2+ decades should be reserved for cases of extreme impairment. I don't know how drunk Ruggs was.. If I have 2 beers, I'm actually sober but legally drunk... should I go away for a third of my life?

She went away forever.
156 mph...twice the legal alcohol limit.
Yes, you should go away for even longer.

We always see people in Ruggs situation come away from jail and go on to become a speaker talking about what they did wrong. Why not march them into a speaking engagement in their prison jumpsuit, chained, and escorted by to law enforcement officers and then tell their story. Wouldn't that be more effective?

Do you weigh like 100 lbs.. Would have to shotgun two IPA's and then run to the parking lot for me and I'd still be under.
