quote:Some of them think Saban is the only man that can straighten out the entire LSU Administration AND Louisiana politics AND get the football program back in championship contention.
LSU fans talked about how Saban was done in his last few seasons and now they’re dying to have him back.
The man has been gone 2 decades and they think he’s still wants get back in the saddle in BR.

Kiffin is kind of a new Spurrier in a way.

Nominate me for thinking Hugh Freeze would work

A HC job at a major program is demanding and time consuming, it's a 24/7 job. If Freeze needed surgical procedures, I'm sure his staff could've handled the day-to-day program operations if he had to be physically absent for a couple of weeks.
Hugh was the perfect "fit" for Auburn and everyone associated with that program was "aligned" and backed him 100%.

re: Is There a Site That Tracks Buy Out Money?

I'd like to know how much schools have paid out to the dozens & dozens of coordinators and position coaches.
Some programs change coordinators almost annually and have to pay those buyouts + the $$ to pull a new coordinator away from another program.
When coordinators are pulling close to $2mm/yr for a 2-3 yr guaranteed contract and they get canned after one season....it gets costly.

re: Dabo would probably be the first person I would call if I was looking for a coach.

Cabo is stubborn and has shown no flexibility in embracing NIL and the portal recruiting required to compete at a high level.
He better get his head straight fast, patience is running thin.

quote:Especially his recruiting coordinator and general manager of football operations. There’s no guarantee a new HC will want to keep the same guys in their positions at LSU.
A top quality HC candidate is going to demand total control of the football program staffing with authority to clean house if they so desire.
quote:They fired Malzhan in Dec 2020. In a roughly 5 year span they will have gone through 4 HC's. With all the HC-Coordinators-position coaches, Auburn is at or near $150 million spent on football coaches. Very deep pockets.
Have you seen how much they throw at coaches to go away. Auburn has very deep pockets.

Auburn played very well against UGA, OK, Baylor, aTm, Mizzou, and Arkansas. They were overachieving which is all you can ask of your team.
Then one stinker of a game and they fire the HC.
quote:Portal season will kick in soon.
I just feel bad for Eric Singleton - could have been a star in Oxford and fell victim to Freeze.
quote:LSU's getting a new President, Athletic Director and HC. There are no guarantees those two will certainly remain on staff in their current role.
recruiting coordinator and interimHC Frank Wilson and GM Austin Thomas will certainly remain on staff in their roles under the new HC, whoever that new HC is.
quote:I don't think Auburn will even reach out to Eli. He's not a "fit" for them.
I highly doubt Drinkwitz will get the Auburn job.
quote:No one's obsessed.
You bama fans are obsessed with Auburn.
Gus was fired in Dec 2020, in 4 yrs 10 months, AU's searching for a coach again. People are going to discuss this on message boards. :dunno:
Why don’t they pull this contract negotiation shite in the dead of summer when there are no sports worth watching? They did this crap a year or two ago on a Saturday morning of a full slate of college football.
re: Former Alabama offensive coordinator gets NCAA show cause, Jim McElwain

Of all the jobs McElwain has held, can they not label him as a former HC and not an OC from over a decade ago? WTH?
can we let him win something first, then have this discussion
