Auburn is a great trip. Stay on Lake Martin, play RTJ on Sunday, enjoy excellent restaurant choices. It’s a nice walkable campus, fans are friendly for the most part.
quote:Very sad.
I hate to say this, but the entire SEC administration is being driven by the same people supporting Talarico.
The SEC fans have fallen right in line with them.
Wait! I thought the U.S. was bringing in TRILLIONS from tariff. :dunno:

IMO, the SEC is in need of improved leadership. Sooner rather than later.
The idiotic and very public display of hysteria perpetrated by the SEC (Greg Sankey) has damaged the brand. We need a complete overhaul of the SEC administrative offices, immediately.

shite we'll have the debt paid off in 3 years at this rate
quote:I'm betting Kiff's public masquerades will be muzzled for a while. LSU is going to have to show a semblance of contrition to de-escalate tensions.
Relax it’s just a twitter poster. You are tuned up to the max over this shite. Your organs are going to give out at this rate if you live and die by kiff’s bs masquerades.
We’re only 10 days into September

What can you do?

100% agree.
There should be extra protection for charter members.
The OG's are the Godfather's of this conference. Now, the Hogs & Cocks have been here long enough, they've earned some pull, but UT/aTm/OU/Mizz get no vote.

That's gonna come back to bite him when they give Kiffin a mic at halftime up by 3 tds..

Oh you got a banner? Definitely unique. Nobody else has that kind of "us versus the world" stuff up.
I'm sure the players are getting fired up talking about the events of the day in district court.
ready to run though a wall for a ruling for the defendant
There will be a constant reminder that SEC team (15) hates LSU and they're working to try to kick them out of the conference. Then he and his staff let them know that the only revenge they have will be to kick the arse of every SEC team they face on the field. The players won't know the particulars of the court cases, but they will most definitely understand the gist of Kiffin's message.

quote:That meeting caught the attention of a lot of folks. And it may have been the spark that signaled that LSU with the backing of Gov Landry is making moves that the 15 schools + the SEC Administration feels are opposite to the "SEC's mission, core values and principals" and that they're rejecting the conferences governance. IDK, but things are certainly a little clearer than they were earlier this week.
Imagine not knowing that every Louisiana Governor has, for all practical purposes, run LSU
I have a feeling this has more to do with LSU holding a meeting for its top boosters at the Governor’s mansion.
JMO, but it looks like the SEC believes LSU is preparing to make a move away from the conference.

quote:This a different angle and perspective to be considered. This is much deeper than just the SEC being pissed that "LSU didn't break any rules" and Lane pissed off the commissioner. 15 schools + the entire SEC Administration are in lock-step agreement, they are considering kicking out a founding member of this conference, it goes much deeper.
This is a post referencing “Political Influence” and references quotes that discuss the concern with politicians.

quote:It's ludicrous that 15 schools + the conference administration ALL believe LSU has shifted and changed their philosophy such that they no longer belong in this conference. It's not like the other founding members AU, UA, MSU, Ark, UK, Vandy, UF, UGA are a bunch of liberal, left leaning schools, run by administrations crawling with DEI.
Feelings about a "possible" shift in philosophy have this conference threatening to expel a founding member.
That's nuts.

quote:LSU is currently a member of the SEC and as such, must abide by the rules of the conference.
Go for it, SEC. Go to court as a “private, independently run” sports league and argue that the state of Louisiana has less power than the league to run its state funded university as it sees fit.
LSU has complied with SEC rules, and like your president stated in his letter to the commissioner, this is a moot point. It's time to move on.

quote:Many of us are reasonable, logical and rational. Many of us did not want Bediako in a Bama uniform this year and didn't want him playing. I was among the most vehement detractors when Nate played him and I personally let our AD (Greg Byrne) know my thoughts on two separate occasions. Greg side-stepped and avoided the conversation when in mixed company. He basically said "considerations and evaluation of the issue were being addressed." :yack:
A lot of you guys have been reasonable in this conversation, but for those of you flaming, let me hand you a mirror.
quote:Kiffin stated before the Clemson game that LSU would absolutely comply with the SEC's new professional sports rule. And LSU did just that. The threat of voting LSU out became public yesterday.
Then why didn't he follow their guidance from the fricking beginning of this?
Sankey and the SEC apparently didn't take him at his word, which is understandable. The threat of voting LSU out was what got him to follow through.
