he was much worse off than has been revealed.

His blood was taken about 3 hours after the wreck. His BAC at the time of the wreck was very likely much higher unless they applied retrograde extrapolation for the BAC number that was released.

Nobody said Ruggs or his girlfriend should rescue anyone. They had ZERO concern for the person in that vehicle. Watch the video again. Ruggs was not unconscious. His girlfriend was demanding help for him while a person was being burned alive. They showed not one single iota of compassion at all. Witnesses on the scene have stated the same. It was even mentioned in reports how little remorse was shown. Ruggs and his 'girlfriend' are despicable people.

I get that, but she seems pretty lucid. And, if that wasn't sobering enough at the time for Ruggs, he was much worse off than has been revealed.

I honestly can't bring myself to watch the video.

Cultural problem? Please explain. It's obvious from the vid that they were unconcerned about anyone but themselves.

Sounds like the emotional one is you. Do you even multi-quote? IMO, he should get 20 with a HARD 10 (no parole for ten years). Was it intentional? No, but with that level of recklessness, it could be CONSIDERED intentional.

Oh yeah?

Tell us about how that works?

Not true. Your BAC keeps rising for several hours after your last drink.

we have no idea when his last drink was, and "several hours" isn't necessarily true either, a lot of variables involved there

If convicted on all counts. Honestly I'm not sure that's enough time. A person died. It was all so avoidable. The whole thing is gut-wrenching.

To me year count is not a right answer. 26 years is a long time and there are plenty of examples where people similarly responsible for a death have gotten less time. On the other hand a person is dead and all her years have been taken from her and in that sense 26 is far too little. In my mind, it should be at least 15 years before chance at parole.

I also wish our justice system included penalties more particular to the offense. For example Ruggs was drunk and he was driving when he killed someone. how about he never be permitted to drink or drive ever again. lifelong probation, anytime he gets caught drinking or driving he gets a fresh month in jail multiplied by whatever time he has violated his probation rule.

We should execute anyone that is doing a something dangerous and illegal that ends up unintentionally resulting in the death of another person? Is that really what you think?

You do realize that if you and your friend rob a convenience store, and hit a customer with the door on your way out resulting in the customer's accidental death, you're both most likely up on murder charges, right? This isn't shocking. Getaway drivers get charged with what the people committing the actual crime get charged with all the time.

Maybe it's a shitty deal, but don't be a criminal and you don't have to worry about it.

I think he is referring to the callous disregard for another human life endemic to many Democrat areas of the country. All about me.
