My thoughts exactly.

If that was your Mom or sister would think this? No you wouldn't.....I hope he serves every second of 26 yrs.

Honestly I'm not sure that's enough time.
People get less for 2nd degree murder. In some states they get less for rape. Count me out of the crowd that believes an awful decision that resulted in tragedy is the same as someone who intentionally ends someone else’s life or sexually assaults them.
I see a difference between this and someone whose BA was barely over the legal limit, and other than losing control of his car, was not breaking any other traffic laws. Ruggs' BA was twice the legal limit, and he was driving 156 mph. I'd call one negligent (for which there should be consequences), and one blatantly reckless.

When you get behind the wheel drunk, you know there is a risk of ending an innocent person's life. He deserves the maximum

Ruggs should do life. Parole possible at the earliest after 25 years.
But the justice system is broken. If he had 2 keys of coke in the trunk and an unlicensed firearm and got pulled over doing 55 in a 54, some of these motherfrickers wouldn't mind Ruggs going to jail for life.
frick him. He owes his life to that girl's family. This entitled shite stain has been given every advantage possible because he can run like a gazelle. He shouldn't get the benefit of the doubt in this case. He's been getting benefits his entire life, and he still killed someone. Some mistakes are so grossly offensive that you don't get a second chance. Killing someone while driving 150 mph while intoxicated is one of those mistakes. How fricking hard is it to live decently?? Especially when the society in which you live believes you are special!! Gifted even. Instead of being grateful and humble you decide to be reckless and stupid?
frick him. He should be a gentleman for once in his life, and hang himself with a barbed-wire rope. That way the taxpayers in NV can avoid paying for the trial, and we can all wipe our collective asses with the legacy of Henry Ruggs III.

The NFL literally has a car service available to players to avoid this very issue.
I feel for his family and the victim’s family. But it makes it very hard to have sympathy for Ruggs when we live in a day and age where this could be easily avoided. Especially when his own employer provides a service to avoid drunk driving.

Sad. Sad to see a woman lose her life and sad to see someone throw away their life.

Do not knight for this Alabama thug
He was trash in Montgomery growing up, he is trash now
He just acquired more money. Good, responsible people know when and where to open up thier engines. Airstrips, deserted roads, dragstrips, etc
Trashy people drive fast in populated areas. This is Ruggs, a trashy person.

You have interestingly extreme takes on this and only trying to find what might be middle ground. What is your take on Ted Kennedy? For reference sake.

I have zero remorse for him or anyone else who does what he did.

His status and wealth will limit jail time
That’s the way it is with athletes
It will cost him a lot of money and his job

No time is enough for that act

Anybody here naive enough to think that this was the 1st time that Ruggs got reckless in that vehicle? Interested to see if anyone says it was likely the 1st time. I see mfers in chargers and mustangs cutting in and out of traffic at high rates of speed everyday. It is habit for reckless shite heads who don’t give a damn about the danger they present to others when driving like maniacs. I doubt he is the exception.

The Illegal immigrant that killed Colts LB Edwin Jackson and his driver plead out for 16 years. He’ll probably get a free plane ride home once he’s out too and be back in America 8 weeks later. Justice system is messed up

Unfortunate decision for him but outrageous. Ruggs belongs to stay in jail for taking an innocent life. If he was drunk but driving near the speed limit...I might get less time. But at over 150 MPH....even a sober driver should spend a good period of their life in jail for that decision.
