I hate this whole story but the only reason (and it’s the only reason you are saying this is because the man is black) he’s getting sympathy is because of his minority status.

I have owned a Corvette and yes I have driven it at that speed before on a 10 mile stretch of interstate at 6:00AM in the morning with no traffic coming or going once. I hit 160mph then brought it back down to 130 mph. The difference is real and I was at full senses with years of driving fast cars under my belt.

I wouldn’t even drive that car on rainy days because they don’t handle well in wet conditions and never ever never would drive a Vette after a drink it’s not forgiving and has an insane power to weight ratio.

He murdered and maimed those girls just the same as if he shot them with a shotgun, 2nd degree murder and if this woke world let’s him off he’s still going to have to live with himself and the mirror.

When somebody dies there is no making things right anymore and he crippled his girlfriend.

He ran with the Devil and lost as everyone who ever has does or will.

His life is done on this earth.

Unless your name is Ted Kennedy that is.

No, but 300 yrs wouldn't be either. There is no giving back a life or some kind of appropriate punishment. It all falls short.

More than enough.

He shouldn't do anymore than 5 years

I have absolutely no sympathy for someone that was going 150ish. If it was a normal accident yes, but 150 mph? If that is proven then I have no problem with 26 years.

How in tf are people writing this? Get a hold of yourselves.

Henry Ruggs intentionally got behind the wheel and engaged in a behavior that he knew could kill someone.

Being intentionally reckless and actually intending to end another person's life are different states of mind with different levels of culpability.

You are terrible at arguing.

I agree. He’s probably better off in prison.

He’s gonna come out of this broke as frick

His physical abilities will be a non factor.

I doubt he has a degree from Alabama.

And who would hire him with that background? A car dealership in Tuscaloosa?

I don't disagree with that at all. I'm all for 25 to life imprisonment for sex trafficking, without parole.

Put this motherfricker in charge and we'd have to start building a lot of new jails.

So why not argue the sex trafficker should go to prison longer?
Not that Ruggs get out in less than 25 years.

Because that's a stupid fricking argument? How about we give the death penalty for jaywalking?

The person was burned alive. Very reasonable to wonder if that is enough time.

No, it's not reasonable at all. You're getting all emotional and reactive about this. The action itself would be MORE than deterred 4-5 years in jail.

Again, even if it were my focking mom, I wouldn't support a 25 year sentence for vehicular manslaughter.

No, in fact these are all quite different. There's a reason manslaughter is punished differently than second degree murder, which is punished differently than fist degree murder.

Terrible way to go out for the victim, that's my worst fear sans being trapped in collapsed building rubble.

I suppose we'll never hear anything about Cam Newton again.

He is facing potentially 46 years in jail

This is America, he's entitled to his day in court." Ruggs could face a maximum of 46 years behind bars for the various charges he may face, Bauman said. DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm or death and reckless driving have maximum punishments of 20 and six years, respectively.1 day ago
