2010 Capital One Bowl LSU vs Penn St. the temps were well-above freezing, but the constant rain and wind made for an utterly miserable game.

2013 LSU vs Texas A&M another game in the 40’s, but very humid. Felt miserable.

2022 LSU vs UAB? I don’t remember exactly which game it was, but I think it was this one. It was raining the whole time and felt brutally miserable. Immediately regretted the decision to go to that game. Ended up leaving at halftime.

UGA/UF Game in the early 90's at the old gator bowl. I think 91 but ain't sure. It was colder than a well diggers arse. About 50 degrees at game time and raining and wind blowing about 30 mph. Got really cold after halftime. Some people who attended that game swears there were snow flurries toward the end. I didn't see them but I do remember paying the Papa John pizza guy in the stands a dollar to let us stick our hands in the pizza delivery bags to get warm. UGA got beat BAD.

Second worse was a game in Lexington around 1990 or so. Beautiful night but it was about 30 degrees at game time back in the day when the game had to accommodate the horse races. UGA lost this one also but ran 2 kicks back for TDs in the game.

It can get low double digits below zero in the deep south but usually not until late January and it is not common. During football season the worse is usually 30s and 40s. Coldest regular season game in the conference in the last few years was probably LSU and Arkansas last year...I wasn't there of course but it looked miserable.

It was a AA playoff game.

Wofford Terriers hosting a playoff game in 2003... can't remember if it was Western Kentucky or NC A&T. It was twelve degrees in Spartanburg, SC that day. Wofford won.

Free tickets to both games. Different experience watching small town college football. The other game was in the mid 40's. Just had a cold snap.

1993 Cotton Bowl Notre Dame v A&M. Jerome Bettis and Reggie Brooks ran all over our arse. Left at halftime because it was so miserably cold. Slide on ice the entire way back to Arlington. Stranded there for two more days as all the freeways in DFW were iced over.

The 1997 Mississippi State game in Tuscaloosa. Cold, windy and sleeting most of the game. And State beat our arse. Miserable game.

2022 Independence Bowl - 25 with windchill of 12 at kickoff. It isn't supposed to be like that in the South

LSU- arkansas last year... think it was around 20 at kick... the bleachers of DW were frozen solid... people had to garb onto each to navigate those frozen stands

The old TX Stadium always amplified the heat or cold.

We froze our baguettes off going to HS playoff games there.

1983 Gator Bowl in Jacksonville, FL played in a wind chill of 13 degrees. Florida defeated Iowa 14-6.

Florida 14, Iowa 6

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – In a game played in a 13-degree wind chill, Doug Drew recovered a fumbled punt attempt in the end zone late in the second quarter to give the Gators a 14-3 halftime lead. Neither team could mount a scoring drive in the second half of this brutally cold contest. The only score came on an Iowa field goal to end the scoring at 14-6.

College game? I seem to recall the 2015 Tennessee game being particularly frigid. They were handing out Mizzou themed neck gaiters to fans walking in the stadium.

Coldest ever was probably Arrowhead against the Colts in 2013 (the regular season game)...we were in the upper deck and the wind was whipping. The kind of cold where you had to go to the bathroom every so often just for warmth.

100%. Nothing has compared to this game. I froze my arse off at that game.

Can confirm. Worst football experience ever. 27 at kickoff, windy, and seemed to get colder. When the sun went behind the scoreboard in the 4th quater and my seats were in the shade, might as well have been playing in Siberia. The old man in front of us shivered so much, when he stopped in the second half I was half certain he had died from hypothermia.

That’s the one I was referring to above.
Couldn’t remember if it was the ‘92 FSU or ‘93 ND Cotton Bowl.

We, too, left at the half.
Drove straight through to Houston
Hours later when we arrived home I collapsed in front of the fireplace … still feeling like ice was in my veins.

Miserable experience.

Football - Music City Bowl 2000, low 20s, windy
Baseball - Ole Miss exhibition against then Ole Miss Major Leaguers, January 2011, Temp 19 windchill single digits, stayed like an inning and half, long enough to see Lance Lynn pitch then left.

Just read post through and saw Myktide beat me to it and did a better job explaining the misery. Coldest game I ever watched was Mississippi State/Alabama in Tuscaloosa in 1997.

Coldest game ever was playing in high school, also in Bryant Denny, last game of the season. Was a 7 pm kickoff, windchill was below freezing at kickoff. Fierce north wind. By the end of the game the temp was below freezing too. Get all hot and sweaty, then freeze on sidelines. Repeat for 3 hours. Just not fun.

Putting away the many night games at Soldier field, it would likely be the 1997 A&M Oklahoma game in Norman. It as 22 degrees at kick off and the wind had some bit that evening.

Boring game as well. A&M rolled 51-7 in the dying days of the John Blake era.

Three come to mind:

1982 - Bear Bryant's last game at the Liberty Bowl. Was on first row behind the Million Dollar Band and couldn't wait for them to get back in their seats after halftime to block the wind.

1983 - Southern Miss at Tuscaloosa - Although it was a day game in October, temps were in the 30s with a slight drizzle and possibly sleet. Stadium was empty except for me and my parents who insisted on staying to the end. (Bama won easily.) Parents are no longer with us and would love to be able to suffer through it again.

2000 - Iron Bowl at Tuscalaoosa - Cold overcast day with a little sleet. Auburn's first visit in years. Miserable day all around.
