In Texas the state legislature has already gone through their furry panic phase. It was a wild and entertaining ride.

Definitely losing interest in CFB outside of Texas. And even then the emotional attachment is less than ever.

People that say the south is worse than the desert southwest haven’t spent a truly hot summer in 110+ heat. It’s the repetitiveness that can wear you down. The winters are great though.

Iowa is absolutely a better program now.
Nebraska should be as consistently good as OU at least. There’s certainly a rabid and national fan base (at least there was).

Texas has been run by chamber of commerce republicans for the last 35 years. Being very business friendly led to the “Texas miracle” and moderate voters appreciated that.
But they’ve drifted off into issues the average voter sees as either a waste of time and taxpayer money, or extreme.

Talarico has a history of working across the aisle at least to get things done. More moderate than many other dems.
Paxton has no business being anywhere near public office unless you like bribery, pay for play and corruption. That’s for starters. His own staff of lifelong republicans and Texas lawmen turned him in. Despite the consequences, they went public anyway it was so bad.
He is the exact opposite of “draining the swamp” people around here seem to care so much about.

The first band I really “got into” and have never tired of them.
B side of Ghost in the Machine is a personal favorite and so much of that album resonates today… they had so much awesome stuff outside of the big hits.
