Backing up a little and aiming for the bottom of the ball, putting more weight on your heels. Put a tee just above the ball and try not to even graze it when hitting.

There’s nothing more frustrating than the shanks and agree it feels like your whole swing is shite all the sudden. Sigh.
Watched a documentary once and they ran several experiments with speed dating formats, and administered a questionnaire on a number of traits.

For women, height was the only thing statistically more important to them than anything. More important than looks alone, personality, clothing and style, voice tone, etc.

The lesson? Short dudes, invest in some Tom Cruise style chelseas and lose some weight (makes you appear taller).
Get off the internet/social media and news roller coaster for a while.

The whole business model is based on fear and anxiety.
Yeah the real problem is no one, who would otherwise be looking to move or upgrade, wants to give up a 3% mortgage for 6% unless they recoup a lot of that in the sale… so prices remain high even as supply has gotten better.

Remote work ability has really changed the equation too. More people don’t have to move vs. just wanting to move.

Of course that 3% was a major historical outlier.
A lot of these are still around but always loved the sailor hats. One guy was responsible for these, and funny how some schools wanted friendly vs. mean.

The answer is obviously Clinton.

He and Gore were Doge’ing before it was cool but they knew how to play the press.
Trump has always been a free beer tomorrow guy. It’s not unique, that’s what populists do.

This time though, he’s surrounded himself with the same ilk.

Bread and circuses.
Just shows doing what you love and being in nature can lead to a long and happy life.

Planet Earth and Blue Planet are so good. Anyone who hasn’t seen these, do yourself a huge favor.

Favorite Western Swing song?

Bob Wills and George Strait notwithstanding, I have to say mine is from a notable Californian…

Been working every day since I was 20… Haven’t got a thing to show for anything I’ve done…

There’s folks who never work and they’ve got plenty…
It’s time some guys like me had some fun.
I’ve seen naive or just dumb people bring aggressive dogs into public events… had to break up a dog fight at a fireworks show a few years back.

But the Humane Society? Wtf.
You can gerrymander yourself into defeat too. Watered down districts will be interesting to watch in November.

Texas rushed it through based in part on Hispanic voting trends from 2024… where sentiment has now reversed course. And Hispanics are now a plurality of the state population.

To whit, Talarico (D) leads Paxton, the likely R nominee, by 5 points. Beto never got there, and I suspect it has to do with Hispanic likely voters along with women.

A similar risk arises in CA, VA etc.. just using Texas as an example here.
If Mateer could keep his composure he’d be a lot scarier to opponents. Tends to panic and make bad decisions. That can be solved with experience… we’ll see.
I mean, she is pretty representative of Vermont if you’ve been there.

And I’m convinced “libs of TikTok” exists solely to find anecdotal news to constantly trigger the TD Poli board.

The fear of being vaporized by the USSR.

The joy of opening a new record or cassette.

We progressed as a society…

… People now want to see even more violence with MMA and UFC.

And Don King/corruption.
There is a huge difference in the trades.

Owning a commercial electrician or plumbing outfit is quite different than Joe six pack who unclogs your toilet. And it’s often who you know to get in the commercial game.

It happens all the time. We’re programmed to judge people on first impressions and superficial observations, a kind of survival instinct from caveman times.

But the reality of their personality, beliefs, etc is often far different.

The most common example nowadays is social media. You take someone you disagree with all the time on this message board… IRL you might have a lot more in common than not.
“Presidents have little or no control over gas prices or inflation. And if they do, it’s justified in the short term. You sound like a Kamala voter.”

- TD Poli board

“Biden did that!”

- TD Poli board ca. 2023.
Saw Ryan vs. Clemens 1989.

It wasn’t a perfect game by either pitcher but it was a perfect pitcher’s duel. Both had the pedal to the floor that night. Rangers won 2-1.
Car culture and personal independence started to die off in the 2000s as the internet and socializing online took hold.

Younger generations don’t know what they’re missing but that’s progress I guess.

David Schwimmer’s GOAT performance. You almost want to see more of an extremely unlikable character.

It’s the one series I could probably rewatch forever.
