I touched on this on the SEC Score Board … the trending phenomenon amongst some has become: A&M beats its opponents, then *poof,* suddenly they're nobodies, and the Ags are “lucky.”

The Ags just went on the road for three straight SEC games (Fayetteville, Baton Rouge, Columbia) and handled all three opponents—a heavy lift in this conference. Since we’ve been in the SEC, we’ve played in the toughest division in CFB; yet when the conference restructures itself, we’re criticized for something out of our hands.

There’s not much Texas A&M could do about the SEC not placing Bama, Ole Miss, or Georgia on our 2025 slate. We did, however, have preseason #1 UTex, #9 LSU, #13 South Carolina, and #15 Florida on our docket.

Josh Pate said it well: Characterizing games like A&M-Mizzou as a trap game—knowing who the QB is going to be—then changing the post-game narrative after the Ags win is disingenuous. You can’t put A&M on upset alert prior to the game then make “backup QB” excuses after the fact.

As for playing top teams in the CFP …

Sisyphus, my arse.
Our boulder (i.e., 86-year championship drought) is nuthin’ but a twisted edging game to make the playoff payoff sweeter.

How is Ole Miss only favored by 2 TDs?

Trap game … looking ahead to Egg Bowl?
Distraction of Kiffin to Florida rumor?
Otherwise, not sure.
OM is the clear favorite in this matchup—however you break it down (coaching, talent, home-field edge).

Tough season for the Gators.

Seems like a lot for Bama given the matchups.

Given the standard 3-point/home team adjustment, it doesn’t seem terribly off.
It’s a great matchup.
I look for a low-scoring game, regardless of which team wins.

I just looked up LSU’s current S&C guy, Jake Flint.
Website lists him as “a longtime member of Brian Kelly’s staff at Notre Dame and Cincinnati.”
It’s therefore zero surprise BK let go of Moffitt.

I assume Flint will move on to another program … or back towards his stomping ground in the Midwest/Michigan.

Those guys were in insane shape.

I’m sure.

I don’t have the data to back up this statement ….
But it feels like we’ve had fewer season-ending injuries to pivotal players.
Not sure the Le'Veon Moss ankle injury can be attributed to S&C, rather than to rotten luck (I’m certainly no expert).
Apart from one obvious dynasty, LSU's cfb national title haul over the past 25 years (n=3; 2003 Saban, 2007 Miles, 2019 Orgeron) is matched only by Ohio State. Full respect to the Tigers.

An unbreakable link across those Tiger teams? Tommy Moffitt, whose strength-and-conditioning wizardry helped to forge three LSU juggernaut teams.

Now, Moffitt is a (not-so) secret weapon at Texas A&M. With four games remaining, could his championship-tested/LSU-proven blueprint push the Aggies towards an SEC Championship … or am I simply wish-casting Baton Rouge magic out of sheer desperation?

Either way: Keep that man in College Station at all costs.

All SEC games—especially road ones—are brutally tough … a reality outsiders don't grasp.
That mental adjustment was our toughest early surprise when we made the conference jump.
I’ve learned to cringe at any "automatic" conference win predictions.

The illusory truth effect = the tendency to believe false information to be correct after repeated exposure.
Not sure where this false portrayal of A&M’s schedule originated, but it’s rubbish.
I appreciate some of your sentiments; but one-third of the season remains.
