They’re probably number 3 in their state in a lot of sports

For reference, they grossed 1.6 Billion in 2023, so 54 million would be 3% of their entire balance sheet. I think people just don’t realize how much money that is.

W/o their starting QB, which the committee is presumably taking into account.
Before TTech shellacked BYU there were questions but they definitely looked good and boosted their profile as a result.
If UGA were to lose to Texas then suddenly this becomes one of the biggest plain old-fashioned hate games ever as it could be a loser leaves town match.

LSU should suck it up and write the checks.

Maybe they could mix it up with their water bill check, could buy them a couple of extra weeks
Suing and losing in court, legal fees both their and his loss of work hours, emotional distress, punitive damages, it’s gonna add up!

I doubt the big donor, if there is one, doesn't want there to be negotiations for a smaller settlement than 54 mil.

There’s negotiations, then there’s what LSU is doing here. If the money is there, then the last thing you want is this to go to court and potentially watch this go from 54 to 80 million. You want this over with.
No they’re not, they’re going to pay him once, and it’s going to be a doozie!

Might depend how good OU looks against Bama.
A blowout then Vandy is the pretty choice, a touchdown or less, then it gets tricky, especially since OU could argue Mateer wasn’t 100% for Texas and Ole Miss, but the dagger might be losing to Ole Miss at home whereas Vandy’s losses were both on the road.

I’d be with you if this were in Starkvegas. Not sure Bully on the road against a stout DL is as tempting, even with the Mizzou QB situation.

Also, State is terrible against the run which is the one thing Mizzou can do.
Ole Miss’s only path is for Bama to go 8-0 and Texas win out then OM wins 3 way tie TX schools d/t opponents win percentage.

I remember when they came out of nowhere in 1993 to win the big 10.

Certainly if Bama comes out thinking all they have to do is show up like they did at South Carolina. Usually that doesn’t happen two times in a row though. The one thing that might throw them for a loop is is if MVB is used more to get mobility in the pocket.
