Probably could get good polymarket odds on Tennessee here.

That would be the ultimate if they had to default on Kiffin’s contract

Just like LSU will have to in the coming months.

They also both won national titles the following year and were coming off championships the previous year. My hunch is Tebow would will Florida to victory in that one.

If we just didn’t crap out in men’s basketball. Making the final four in football and the World Series made for a very fun year.

That’s why gave him a mention. Has to be only coach to ever be fired for beating his arch rival, thus unintentionally becoming the architect of the Kiffin story arc.

Which leads me to a question, just something I was curious about, what was the Alabama fan’s opinion of the 2017 iron bowl in February of 2018? Were y'all still mad/sad about it?

It’s a trade off, you lose this, but you gain late season playoff games. Just to throw a potential example, say Ole Miss and Oklahoma are each 7-2 on Nov 14, that game becomes a lot more meaningful in 2026 as opposed to 2006. November now had a lot more nationally meaningful games.

Had Bama gone 13-0 here, and with Prothro (who was injured in that Florida game) they very well may have, we might have gotten a 4-team playoff a lot sooner as either them or Texas would’ve been left out of the national title game, making it two years in a row an unbeaten was left sitting at home.

My hunch is that somewhere between 2006 and 2019 he figured out that doing Oklahoma drills during a rain delay wasn’t the best idea. Clearly the guy at LSU was not the same coach he was at Ole Miss.

Joe Moorhead - MSU has to be on this list. Followed up Dan Mullen only to get fired 2 years later.
