Correct, I should’ve worded my post better. Only 20 total came out of the rubble, either on their own or by being rescued.

SEC white hat ref pulled a hammy in the Missouri/Kansas game. I don’t wish ill on people, but I don’t feel bad for him.

Our society has decayed in the last 15 years. People just don’t care about each other anymore. People are consumed by politics to the point they become very angry. I think we would all benefit from taking a step back. Get outside, get fresh air, spend time with loved ones, do something to help others.
We were once able to disagree without wanting those we disagree with to be harmed.

A sad fact: only 20 people were pulled out of the rubble alive at the World Trade Center. It’s always so sad hearing the stories about all of the hospitals that were prepared for a massive influx of patients that never came.

He attended and spoke at the ceremony at the Pentagon. Vance attended the ceremony at Ground Zero.

That’s the music being played in the background at the ceremony while they read the names of the 9/11 victims. The name readers are family members of victims. After each reader finishes reading their list of names, they get to speak about their family member that was lost.

I wonder what the Mayor of NYC is going to do/say today.
I’m not sure if he will be giving remarks elsewhere, but politicians aren’t allowed to give remarks at the ceremony at Ground Zero.

Listening to the reading of the names always gets to me. 2,977 victims, 2,977 families changed forever, 2,977 stories.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there was 0 conversation between the hijackers and ATC. The hijackers accidentally broadcast the internal plane announcement "we have the plane, sit down and be queit, we are going to xxxx" but they never responded to inquiries from ATC.
This is correct. The hijackers were not talking to ATC intentionally. The communications from the hijackers were accidental and were intended to be announcements made to the passengers on the planes.
I know when Mohammed Atta (ring leader of the attack and hijacker pilot of American Airlines Flight 11, which hit the North Tower) accidentally called ATC while trying to make an announcement to the passengers, the controller quickly responded and asked “Is this American 11 trying to call?” and Atta did not respond.

There was a ton of confusion amongst Air Traffic Control and the military about which planes were hijacked and which ones had already been crashed. Furthermore, our air defense system at that time wasn’t really geared toward defending against an attack launched from inside the United States. In fact, some of the first fighter jets scrambled during all of the confusion flew out to sea not realizing where the attack was coming from.

I was in first grade when it happened. I didn’t actually find out about it until after school that day. My mom would pick me up from elementary school and then pick my sister up from the high school. The first I heard about it was when my sister got in the car and my mom asked her if she knew about what had happened. I remember us watching news coverage all that evening. Obviously I was too young to really understand what had happened other than some bad people flew airplanes into buildings and killed a lot of people.
I also remember the first anniversary being a really big deal. I remember we had a being remembrance program at school. By then I did have a bit more understanding of what had happened.
Now there are adults who weren’t even born when it happened, which is crazy to think. That makes it all the more important to have these ceremonies each year and for the documentaries to continue to air. 9/11/2001 is one of the most important days in the history of the United States, and every American needs to hear the stories of that day.

I appreciate that the ceremony at the National September 11th Memorial (Ground Zero) doesn’t include politicians making speeches. It should always remain non-partisan and very somber.

I’ve recently been rewatching the ABC News coverage of 9/11. They don’t make anchors like Peter Jennings anymore.

Maybe, but I wouldn’t put much stock into until it consistently shows up in the close range and/or it is backed up by other models.

The GFS is known for spitting out bogus tropical systems in the longer range.
re: Did the passengers overpower the terrorists on Flight 93?
Posted by Roll Tide Ravens on 9/10/26 at 7:58 am to weagle1999
The heroic passengers and flight attendants on board fought back. The phone calls from the plane back that up. As tragic as the entire thing was, it was a blessing that Flight 93 was delayed leaving Newark. That allowed the passengers to find out about the larger attack, prompting their revolt against the filth that hijacked the plane.

Do you understand how sieges work? Do you understand how sieges give you what you want with minimal loss of life in exchange for just a little bit of time? Trump is slowly strangling them, but you just can't accept the obvious and be patient.
If we’re having to siege and strangle them, then they aren’t totally defeated yet. If that’s the case, Trump should be honest about it. I’d appreciate that more than him constantly screaming that Iran is totally defeated and that we’ve won a big beautiful victory already. He would lambast you right now for calling his statements hyperbole.
