re: Silverfield Presser Link/Discussion

I'm to the point with the football program that I'm not going to get optimistic any more. I'm just 'show me'. Then show me again.

with development you will have Oline men and Dline men who are SEC capable as Juniors/Seniors.
Ever heard heard that old blues song 'Not fattenin' no more frogs for snakes'?
That's how a lot of coaches view developing players these days. Coach them up good and somebody will poach them after you did all the work.

I am pretty much through with Razorback football. Too many years striving to just be mediocre. I have emotionally disassociated and distanced myself from giving a crap.
I will watch with a mild interest maybe, but not care when they lose. Because I am used to it.
We don't have the money, nor the population, to compete. Likely never will.
As far as Silverfield, I have nothing against him. Can't, because I know very little about him. He did beat Arkansas, and it appeared his Memphis team was prepared and played much harder than we did.

There's just too many moving parts these days, and the assembled parts can disintegrate in a split second. No continuity. You have to throw together the pieces you can afford and hope it works well for a year. A gamble at best.

We better have a backup plan. And not Barry Odom. Throw the bank at Gruden, make him say no. Same with Campbell. Swing for the fences until you land one.

We have four 4 stars in state this year (more than average by a good bit) and all are committed elsewhere.

Plus some dawgs on defense and a quicker/better decision making QB sure wouldn't hurt.

Boozer beat us. Without him we walk out with a comfortable win. He just went off tonight.

Other than untimely turnovers, offense wasn't our problem. Well, except for that one game.
Petrino is still a damn good OC.

Give Petrino a top notch DC and NIL money and we would have been good to go too.
Now we might have to face Petrino's offense.

We haven't signed anybody yet, as far as we know. Made an offer.
This could still go to shite.
IF Kiffin really is going to LSU, I fully expect OM to make a run at Golesh.
I don't know who Golesh's agent is, but if it's that turd Sexton, he will try to start a bidding war.

At this point, I do too - unless we could get Gruden (ha) or a Kiffin (ha) or similar no brainer.
Petrino has won here. Against good competition.
One big caveat though - the game has changed with NIL. Can he successfully navigate the bullshite a coach has to deal with these days, in building a roster that you basically have for one year?
Offensive players should be interested if he's the coach, but can he draw the defensive talent we need? Can he get a good to very good DC?
Questions that can't be answered until he is given a shot.

Doesn't invalidate your argument, but the defense only gave up 45.

You have nothing to worry about. Even if we keep it close and have a chance at the end, we'll f it up somehow.

Perplexity is thinking Silverfield is the most likely hire, Eric Morris is right behind him however. No mention of Lashlee or Malzhan.

We'll lose driving for a go ahead TD with 1:00 to play with a fumble on the 1 yard line on 1st and goal.
Book it.
Book it.

Free throws are going to cost us over the season.

Just to clarify, there was no free timeout. A&M was charged a timeout because of it. That's why there were no Arky fan complaints about it.
Even a legit injury will cost you a time out if the player doesn't go down before the ball is spotted. (My understanding).

Only problem with HS kids now is that you develop them for a couple of years, then they transfer out. Maybe not every one of them, but too many.
