Oh shite, not another UGA what might have been post.

Auburn will always be second fiddle and second class. Sorry if that’s too real.

But this was not while he was at UGA unless my memory serves me wrong. In college it is Bo but overall in life Herschel might be more legendary.

There are so many iconic legends of this league, you couldn't possibly pick one single person as the archetype. Tebow was a great for sure. To be legendary you have to be known by one name. Bo, Herschel, Honeybadger, Spurrier, Cam, Archie, Burrow, Emmitt,Julio, etc.

Herschel was great and won the Heisman.

Bo was great and won the Heisman, then won the MLB All-Star game MVP and made the NFL Pro Bowl in the same freaking year. So... Bo.

Ummm sorry but no. I loved Tebow but he is not it.

Herschel by a country mile.

A couple of players not mentioned but noteworthy.
Jackie Parker and
Shorty McWilliams (the only four time ALL-SEC football player in the history of the conference).

Christ, I love Bo but even Bo has said Charles Barkley is the best athlete to ever come out of Auburn, so if you’re gonna say Bo you might as well replace that with Charles Barkley, and who is going to say Barkley?

That’s I sane

Edit: I know This thread was about SEC players but someone posted the list with him at like 8

Herschel was a better football player- by a thin margin
Bo was the best ATHLETE- and that is not even really up for debate.

This thread just shows how young most posters here, are. If you around during Bo's playing time, you could not see his face, every where you looked. Heisman, All-Star, Pro-bowler, Nike commercials, Hell his giant billboard was even in a Red Hot Chili Peppers video. The build up to the Monday Night Football game with the Boz was like an impending heavyweight prize fight. Bo has been the focus of TWO ESPN docs, and integral in the one on the Boz. Bo's highlight film alone, makes him legendary. He was doing things people haven't ever seen before.
