Bo only ran track his freshman year. Played Baseball the rest of the time.

Considering the season Joe had never happened in 150 years and happened against SEC competition and playoff layout I’m gonna say the deck is stacked against you.

Hardly.

Those records will fall sooner rather than later. The trend of college football has been moving more towards wide open, spread 'em out, passing attacks for the better part of a decade. Even an old school guy like Saban can see the writing on the wall. Before his injury against Tennessee, Tua was putting up similar numbers to Joe Burrow. So it's not beyond the realm of possibility that a top-level QB with a talented cast surrounding him can put up those kind of numbers with the right system in place.

ETA:

Also...it's not like defenses in the SEC were elite in 2019. Auburn, Georgia, and Florida had the best defenses in the conference and they were shredded by good offensive attacks. Alabama, with a back-up QB, put up over 500 yards and scored 45 points against an Auburn defense that hadn't given up more than 24 points all season long.

Probably the guy who is pushing 60 and still looks like this:

You can easily argue that Herschel should've won the Heisman all 3 years he played.

Is this another one of the times we are supposed to credit Bo based on what he “would have” done?

No, checked the block and moved on. His time at the Combine was legendary.

Yep.

He was the most dominant player of his era. Had he stayed for his senior year Georgia most likely wins the national championship in '83.

Bo didn’t go to combine, it’s a myth

Than you answered the question who is the most legendary. When a myth become fact is shows that most people place him at a pretty high shelf.

Burrow is a less controversial Cam Newton. He will be a legend at LSU, but will not be revered like the others on your list 20 years from now, outside of the fanbase he played for.

Doesn't take away from what he accomplished this year, but he doesn't belong with those names. Shaq and Pistol Pete before him on "legendary".

Yea, this is all total bullshite.

This is all good and great, but doesn't take away from the fact that one super year doesn't make you an SEC Legend outside of said player's fanbase. Same goes with Cam and Johnny Football...amazing seasons, but to think 40 years later people are going to equate Joe Burrow/Cam Newton/Johnny Manziel to Bo/Herschel/Manning/etc. is not accurate. They were fun for a season, they were not SEC folklore.

Again, total bullshite. I would argue Cam is undoubtedly an SEC legend as well as Burrow. Your reasoning is simply your opinion based off of some nonsensical logic.

Nope DERRICK THOMAS..drops the mike....errrrrrccckkkkerrrtcckk.

On offense. Derek Henry had the best season ever by an SEC RB and Burrow of LSU lore set a high bar for any future qbs to break.

I like Timbo but he's just not that gifted with talent. Will, yes. Talent? No! If he'd moved to TE his skills though limited at qb would have excelled as a te.
