re: Why is a Republican Senator joining Elizabeth Warren to raise taxes for social security?

I wonder why we never see any suggestions from the politicians in DC to reduce the out of control deficit spending through a balanced budget amendment? I wonder why?

Is that the guy who couldn't do fractions? Or am i thinking of someone else?
Not sure about the fractions issue but he was the most contentious and argumentative poster on there PT forum. Dude would go off the rails trying to make some inane point that many times had absolutely nothing to do with the OP.

It was one of, if not the largest culture shock of my life witnessing what they're going through. Words can't do it justice what it feels like walking down a busy street in a big city over here and having to worry about the huge groups of young Muslim men roaming around at night. Drunk, cat calling the women, harassing the natives and making everyone uncomfortable. And as much as I hate to admit it, they aren't pussies like a lot of the Western European men. They'll talk shite and hit you for talking back. A huge wake up call is needed and it was needed a decade ago.
There are tens of millions of people on the left side of the political spectrum who believe having tens of millions of devout Islamists in the US is a net positive in their fight against traditional Western culture/civilization. They're not wrong!

The worst thing about Fallon is how much material he had for comedy with Biden and Harris, and didn’t touch it.
Not just Biden, all things Democratic Socialist provide an endless stream of material for any decent comic. Just the Obammy material alone could carry any decent comic 20-30 minutes of their show.

It's about time some of the people who were/are trying to take OMB out are held to account, but to be honest, Bolton is at the bottom of the list for the people I would like to see in cuffs, shackles and an orange jumpsuit.
Where's the perp walks for Brennan, Comey, Strzok, Clapper, Rice, etc.???

re: You do realize a majority of media movie critics are Progressive Left, right?
Posted by Bass Tiger on 6/26/26 at 11:55 am to Geekboy
I remember when the movie Gone With The Wind was getting some negative attention a few years back. Many on the left wanted the movie essentially banned because the movie semi accurately portrayed the way slaves were treated and how they lived during the Civil War period. There were several movie critics who didn't think the movie should be banned but they did largely agree the movie needed to be edited a bit and shown with a viewer trigger warning.

The knee jerk reaction to all these FIFA Europeans gushing over the US is to allow a few hundred thousand to seek legal immigration to the US. My concern is these same people sat around and allowed the Woke Progressive in Europe to frick their countries up big time. ....don't know if they can be dependable defenders of the last bastion of Western civilization.
re: Sen. Lisa Rochester (DE, D) asked a simple question: "Where has socialism ever worked?"
Posted by Bass Tiger on 6/26/26 at 11:37 am to Hback
Her brushoff response was perfect.
She knows socialism/communism/Marxism are all inferior when compared to a nation that embraces capitalism and meritocratic principles. Her biggest concern is walking the political tightrope and not falling off, she knows there is a shite ton of money to be had if she plays her DC Uniparty cards wisely.

re: How should our elected representatives vote?

Which model seems most correct to you:
1. Representatives should vote in a way that reflects the will of the majority of their constituents.
2. Constituents elect representatives because they trust their judgment, intellect, and character. This grants them the freedom to vote based on their conscience and expertise, even if it occasionally diverges from public opinion.
Any elected politician who runs on a particular platform such as mass deportations, balancing the federal budget, congressional term limits, ending birthright citizenship, election security/integrity, restoring the US manufacturing and industrial production, etc. should be held to account for those campaign platform items. Furthermore any member of Congress who makes such campaign pledges should vote against any legislation that would be at odds to the campaign platform they ran on.

Speaking of over the top hyperbole. I was flipping channels yesterday evening and landed on CBS, the reporter was showing some headline about the heatwave in Europe that read, (paraphrased)
40 People Dead After Trying To Escape From Extreme Heat
The people reportedly died from drowning. They were not trying to escape from the heatwave, they decided to go swimming to beat the heat and they unfortunately drowned. I just can't bring myself to blame unusually warm temps as the reason 40 people decided to go swimming and died.

I think Warsh as Fed Chair is going to be a massive upgrade over Powell but I'm still not convinced we need a Federal Reserve in its current iteration at all.
I honestly believe there could be a table of fixed and reasonable interest rates for the various types of loans frequently taken out by commercial/corporate and individual citizens.
How many times have you heard the Wall Street gurus say, businesses and investors do not like uncertainty. Fixed and reasonable rates would remove all uncertainties, fixed rates would allow the aforementioned parties to plan accordingly.

We have much more dangerous enemies that want to destroy America closer and sooner.
MAGA/America First need Trump to behave like a mule with blinders on, focusing only on the task straight ahead, dismantling the Bureaucratic State, election security, clamping down the border, the elimination of DEI and all things Woke, etc.

A lot of this ^^^^ could have been avoided entirely if academia and the media hadn't conditioned 3 generations of Americans to hate their country and to despise their conservative minded family members, friends and neighbors, particularly to hate those who are white and unashamedly Christian.
