Nobody ever said he wasn't fast. I saw him and Bo compete in the 100 meters in the SECC. But Bo did it in two sports at the highest levels. Two All-Star appearances in two sports and even an MVP of an All-star game. That is not like Walker getting a participation trophy for a regional meet in track

Walker was a 2 time All American in Track at UGA.

Pete is the only real competition to Bo. His numbers will never be matched, but Bo did it at the highest level in 2 sports and was competitive in a 3rd.

I love Bo and Hershall.

But

The Pistol holds the all time scoring record in the history of the NCAA.....

That will never be broken.

A record that will never be broken.

He did it before the three point line.

He revolutionized the game of basketball.

He changed the way the game was played.

Kids in Louisiana and across the South started to play basketball because of him.

The type of play in the NBA that most fans take for granted today is because of what Pistol Pete Maravich did while at LSU.

I Love Bo and Hershall.

But niether did anything to change the game of football.

Walker ran a wind-aided 10.30 in a race won by future Olympic gold medalist Carl Lewis. The spring before winning the Heisman, Walker clocked a personal-best 10.23 and went as low as a 10.10 with the aid of the wind. He also ran the 55-meter dash in 6.11 seconds.

Not only did he run a best of 10.44 in the 100 meters at 6-1, 225 pounds, he also twice qualified for the NCAA indoor 60-yard dash while at Auburn (his 6.18 60 yard dash run in 1983 is still in the Auburn record books).

Herschel was faster than Bo

Its Herschel..period..

The Aubs that attempt to make Bo his equal are blinded by their team loyalty.

I'm a Bama fan.. Old enough that I watched them both.

Bo was great.. Super athlete..

Herschel was the greatest player I've ever seen for 3 straight years.. Not a 1 season wonder.. He was awesome from his first carry till his last.

Had the Heisman voters not been anti underclassmen..Herschel would have won 3 straight Heisman trophies.

He led UGA to 3 straight SEC championships, a National Championship and left the field with the led for another that UGA lost on basically a hail-mary.

UGA was 6-5 the year b4 he got there, the were 7-4 the next season after he left..

They lost 3 games in 3 years with Herschel getting the ball on virtually ever play

Very eloquently put, but Aubies aren’t bright enough to get it. We’re talking about people who worship $cam Newton and Nick “the ultimate thug” Fairley, and who roll their own trees. These are not bright people.

There are a lot of SEC guys more legendary than Tebow

No they’re aren’t.
Bo, Hershel, Broadway Joe, Archie, Peyton, Y.A Tittle, Reggie White, Bart Starr...that's 8 with absolutely no doubt who's more legendary. Then we can go into the "very probably" list, names like Stabler, Stallworth, Ozzie Newsome, Jack Youngblood, Dwight Stevenson, John Hannah, Emmitt Smith, Fran Tarkenton, George Blanda, Jim Taylor.

You could probably toss in guys like Derrrick Thomas and Cornelius Bennett, too.

Burrow's legend is diminished by playing in that vanilla offense in 2018. Just imagine if he'd only played 2019, had come in (at LSU of all places) and raped the field and record books, in a one-and-done.

He led LSU to a 10 win season and NY6 bowl win proving that he wasn’t a one year wonder.

Your train of thought makes no sense

The thought process is this- This is a guy who sat 3 yrs at Ohio State and never got a chance, and had to transfer to LSU (an infamously bad passing team) to play.
He then set records; not just school records, or conference records; he had the single best season in NCAA history, and by a wide margin. And again, at the school known for winning with defense and a ground game.

If he'd have done that the first year he played, the emergence would have been even more mind-boggling than it was.

Lol ok I’m arguing with a dumbass. My bad. Literally the only 2 guys on that list that you can say were more legendary that Tebow we’re Bo and Herschel. It’s not even close.

Honestly, Barkley's legacy at Auburn is that he was the fat guy at Auburn.

The only people who make any effort to push a Barkley legend at Auburn is Auburn. To everyone else, his NBA and TNT career are the only things that matter. Same with Shaq. Their careers in college aren't all that legendary.

Whereas for guys like Herschel, Bo, etc.., college was the peak of their athletic careers.

Aubies are the only ones who say this and most of them don’t really believe it. Bo was special. Herschel was super human. Practically every national poll you can dig up has Herschel as the best player ever. Bo Usually gets mentioned in the top 5 or so. Take off those Aubie shades.

Sorry man, this Bama fan disagrees. The word “legendary” was created for Bo Jackson. Herschel was right there, but as a tie breaker I give the nod to Bo when you consider all the sports, that Nike poster, etc.

Now I’m gonna piss everyone off: neither of those players were the best RB’s who have played in the league. But they were dominant and played in another time when vast amounts of information wasn’t so readily available in a second, which grew the legend. Therefore, those two players will always be the most ‘legendary,’ regardless of who comes along in the future.

Why you freaking out about it?

You think Tebow is legendary, fine. I don't think he's really that renowned anymore.

If we're talking JUST college, then maybe... that wasn't specified. I listed listed some SEC guys who are all-time greats in the NFL. Tebow barely got a cup of coffee there.

But sure, if you think Tim Tebow is more legendary than the guy who called the greatest Super Bowl upset in history (Joe Namath), go for it.

Because he played 2 years, duh. And the first year, he wasn't All SEC. or second team either. And let's be honest here- a QB taking LSU to 10-3 isn't that huge an accomplishment. That was basically LSU's average.
