Lost to a little-known Pavia, but no excuses. Flat the entire game, couldn't do anything right. I believe it was the week prior to Thanksgiving, so even the students weren't in the game.

I think it’s easily explained by Simms sucking in big games. I still think he gets shite on too much. The guy was damn good…except against OU and that game against Colorado. Dude was 26-6 as a starter, 3-1 against aTm, and any ranked win was sort of discredited because it wasn’t Oklahoma.
Overhyped? Probably. Still good? Yes.

That GA Southern loss was really bad but we were a team already in big time disarray by that point. Not technically a loss but we were supposed to have one of the best teams in the country in 1985 and somehow tied a Rutgers team at home that season that only won 2 games that season.

I considered Simms way overhyped. He seemed to never produce that good when facing similar talent.

For A&M 77-0 we were Franchioned. And even the last Big12 game against tu the game was stolen by a cheating ref.
The biggest head scratcher to me was the 2017 second half choke game against UCLA, where we were up 44-17 going into the fourth quarter and lost 44-45. That one still hurts

They pulled up into Fayetteville and absolutely kicked our asses. With our old QB. It was never close. An awful loss in a million ways.

The box score wasn't that crazy considering Driskel gave us one of his special games. He had a few others where he Driskeled constantly also.

I don't know. Having UCLA beat your QB into modeling in Rout 66 is a pretty unique event.

For A&M, it wasn't a loss - it was a tie. 1994 vs SMU.
This happened during a time when A&M basically dominated the SWC for an entire decade. Always ranked in the top 10. Here comes little ole SMU fresh off the death penalty and manages to tie the game, leaving A&M 10-0-1 that season.

In our defense we didn’t get too many chances on offense since our special teams and defense kept scoring. We weren’t going to exactly open up the playbook.

That was bad... but I'd have to say the #1 loss in this category for OU would have to be the 2001 loss to Oklahoma State at home.... OSU was terrible and an OU win puts them in the Big 12 championship game and a win there probably puts them in the BCS championship game.
They let OSU hit two big pass plays late in the fourth quarter which gave OSU the go ahead touchdown.
My runner up was the 1990 Iowa State game when a slow Iowa State QB with a knee brace on kept running QB draws and OU couldn't stop it. This despite the fans in the stands screaming QB draw on every play. That dude QB drew himself down the field late in the fourth and scored and ISU won 33-31.... First win for ISU over OU in thirty years.

The bible thumper and hooker humper, better known as Hugh Freeze, lost 3 years in a row to Diego Pavia. In 2022, while at Liberty, Freeze lost at home to NMSU and Pavia. Liberty was a huge favorite. The next season, 2023 Freeze loses to NMSU while at Auburn. It too was a home game and Pavia was their QB. Then in 2024, Vanderbilt came to Jordan Hare with Pavia at QB and beat Freeze for the 3rd year in a row.
All 3 games, Freeze's team was favored quiet heavily and he lost all 3, with the first 2 being absolute beatdowns.

Yea..while the USF shite was emarrassing it was not near the level of the Southern loss...not sure the last game we did complete a pass..ever.
