1975. OU was the 1974 NC playing Kansas at Norman. We had 4-lost fumbles & 4-interceptions and lost big. Went on the win the 1974 NC but it was devastating at the time.
Runner up, 1980 Stanford comes to a rainy Saturday game in Norman. My roommate was the son of the OU neurological surgeon for the team and he and his wife always brought beer kegs & BBQ to our apartment before games. The doctor said "I don't feel good about this game".
At the time I didn't know John Elway from John Wayne. That quickly resolved itself as he ran & passed OU into oblivion.

What year was the Florida game where Right started Futon Bauta (or whatever). I don't know if we had much of a shot anyway, but that took it to a new level
