Barry Switzer.

Hated the SOB when he was coaching OU. Hated him after he left OU.
Hated him with the Cowboys.

But then I mellowed, and slowly realized he would have been a lot of fun to get drunk (blasted on coke) with. Barry is a hell of a story teller. I would imagine Getting him and Bill Clinton in a bar together, when they were both in their prime, would have been wild.

Aggregate scoring across all sports is fine and all, sure, makes Texas look good. HOORAY!!!

But Indiana won the National Championship in football… INDIANA…

All things considered, they had the best year in sports. The magnitude of that championship outweighed any other school’s aggregated accomplishments.

No sir…the natives would have revolted.

But the administration damn sure tried. For once the BMDs were on the right side.

Natty- Texas A&M vs Texas,

I’m sorry, but this can’t happen… I know us, I know them… Collectively we couldn’t handle it mentally…

Small town Wisconsin is actually pretty damn cool. The bar to church ratio is 50/50, small businesses abound, people are nice as hell.

Wouldn’t want to full time it there, but kicking back at a nice summer place up in north Wisconsin wouldn’t suck.
It’s always been Mark Mangino‘s world. We’re just orbiting it.

Nobody cares about tv markets anymore

Well nobody other than the corporations that write the checks… Those corporations write the checks because of eyeballs, NYC is chock full of untapped eyeballs.

Marketing is a hell of a thing.

Whose expectations? Blows my mind with one NC in 50+ years.. yall still have expectations.

Miami

That is the one University that should be fought over by the SEC and B1G.

The NYC television market is moved by the Hurricanes being good. Too much potential money sitting on the table for Miami not to be in your conference.

Why do some keep claiming that college football is dead?

So, why do people keep claiming this?

Because some people are Arkansas fans.
If Texas happens to live up to their expectations over the next couple of seasons, Muschamp will become a hot commodity again.

Nothing rehabilitates a coaching career faster than being associated with winning.

Sark has 2 playoff wins. Research is not hard, but it does require a little bit of effort.

To be fair to the guy, research is not a prerequisite for internet arguments.

Texas fans used to chant “poor Aggies” so I was convinced they were just a hardscrabble program that tried to do more with less

“Poor Aggie” was never referencing money.

It was always a dig when they lost a game.

Wait.. Is this really a thing? Are there scholarships available? Because getting a full ride Bass Fishing scholarship would be epic beyond words.

The baseball field I can live with, the football field annoys the shite out of me.

Was supposed to get grass for this season but it was pushed back to next season. Because…

Hmmmm… That sounds a bit like a sour grapes take.

But it’s the internet, I’ll just cut that bait.

Isn’t Texas famous for having boosters meddle in their program?

Meddle? Every program has BMDs that meddle, so that’s a relatively weak description.

We have had boosters that believed they CONTROLED our program as owners.

Texas- Texas A&M (I'm not sure if this is bigger than OU-TX because of its discontinuation. Are Texas fans split on this? I would assume both OU and A&M would say it's Texas)

Texas- OU would both agree that we are each others biggest rival. But it’s complicated on both sides by the secondary rivals that are both heated and historic.

OU-Nebraska was huge, and OSU is their Aggie.

If you are a Horn or Arkansas fan of a certain age, that particular rivalry was every bit as strong as TX-OU and actually more important.

Texas-A&M would be the number one rivalry if it weren’t for the fact that we downplay it because it drives Aggie nuts. But rest assured when we lose to Aggie it’s far more meaningful than anyone lets on.
