If we both lose the way we did and knowing oyu are talking about Texas vs ATM I would rather choose Texas path. Beat all 3 rivals. ATM didnt play in the conf title game and was a first round exit.

Honest non biased answer I would say the same if the roles were reversed.
Texas did, not nearly as much as OU, was screwed out of 08, and the idiots in the Big 12 office made divisions instead of the 2 best teams thus the winner of RRS auto to the Big 12 title.

Also OU owned Texas.
I think the recruiting uptick outweighs the lesser competition and as a fan every Texas fan I have ever spoken with prefers playing SEC teams to Big 12, hands down. There was not a single Big 12 opponent we miss in football, not one.
Beats the hell out of 8-4 rinse repeat lol
1 I’m pretty sure that’s not the real
Number and 2 Texas had over half d starters opt out and had more overall and impact on the 2 deep.

Game is meaningless either way but don’t act like Texas didn’t have the more impactful opt outs because that’s completely false
They basically are now. Not meaningless but with opt outs and transfer portal and nil non playoff bowls are nothing like pre 2020
Maybe, maybe not but with opt outs for the non playoff bowls it’s impossible to gauge any teams post season.
Coincidence Texas and OU are called for the bottom most penalty plus minus?
So you are saying it should be 8 team playoff only? If it’s a 12 team playoff and there are several teams that have a claim to the 12 spot it shows it’s flawed.

Either do away with auto bids and move to 16 or given the lack of SoS in the criteria you will always have issues.

Texas beats a cupcake and is 10-2 this season should OU be out then? Were they not worthy?

It’s currently a very flawed system unless you do away with auto bids and get the best 12 teams
Going to agree to disagree then. Vandy, Texas, ND, etc all had claims.
This season, literally this season there were more than 12 teams.
If you are actually an Indiana fan you will be relegated quickly so I wouldnt jump on that idea too quickly
Why would 24 teams make sense? I am happy Sankey said no to 24 teams who is criticizing him?
The other conferences are trying to act like they are the same when they are not, both in revenue and in quality of play.

Good for the SEC the for telling them to F off. The BIG is only wanting this because they know their 4th place team most seasons wont make it and the ACC and Big 12 will never have worth 4th place teams.
There’s much more to lose. Had Texas beat osu this year they are in the playoff but not anything different than at best hosting as a 7-8 seed maybe hosting bama. Loss and you are out.

How can you not see given the committee basically weighed W-L record above all else including SoS that these OOC games are very high risk minimal reward at best?
Ohio state is like 140-14 the past 20 years at home with most of those loses coming against Michigan.

They are defending champs and playing for another this year. Not saying they are unbeatable but at home it’s an unnecessary game to risk
Depends what he is asking. It’s a game of chicken right now where some of these players are demanding money they haven’t earned.

I wish him the best but I trust our staff and if they think they can upgrade for the same or less money I’m sure they will. He isnt leaving for any other reason but money.
We lost our WR 3 He was good but wanted to be WR 1. We have Mosley and Wingo who are more 1A and 1B, Morre is a Wr 3. currently and he wanted more money period.
We are losing a ton on D, on O we are not losing that much. Wisner is a good culture and good back but he wants $1M. Not paying him that, hope he gets it but not at UT.
For the millionth time, Texas could have lost those 2 other games and had they been 10-2 by beating any cupcake (like 90% of P4 does) for their OOC we would have been in the playoffs period. A 10-2 Texas with H2H over OU and Vandy are in.

Much more risk than reward. I agree there is some reward if you win but there is a lot more risk if you lose, much more than necessary.

All those that talk about the Fl and UGA games can you with a straight face honestly say a 10-2 Texas with the exact same outcome on the season just swapping OSU loss with a win agains Wake Forest in the opener is not in the playoffs?
