Campbell was a solid guy. He was on his way to the floor of the 1988 Republican National Convention when his cell phone rang, but when he answered it the call disconnected. In less than an hour Dan Quayle was named as George H.W. Bush's running mate. Campbell was convinced that the call had been from Bush to ask him to be his VP.

I was reading about Bert Jones having his jersey retired during the upcoming Texas game. He said it will be an honor to have it done along with that of his former roommate Tommy Casanova. I did not know that they were roommates.

And I think they are pretty tasty. If you ate a mountain oyster and did not know what it was you could easily mistake it for a real fried oyster. Has anyone else tried them?

I sent a link to this page to Joe Nagata's daughter. She, her brother, and I were friends at LSU. Their mother was from Cajun stock and her brother used to refer to himself as the world's only Japanese coonass. She responded that a few years ago her father was inducted into the Hall of Honor for Distinguished LSU Military Alumni. I never met her father but anyone I ever knew from Eunice would tell you that he was one hell of a man.

Why do some people submit photographs of their deceased loved ones wearing oxygen tubes? You know, those small hoses that wrap around their heads with the two prongs going into the nostrils.
It seems to me that people would want a happier memory. Surely that is not the only photograph they have. They should use one from a high school yearbook if they have to.
