This is true and super level-headed. I don't think anyone outside of Alabama saw 8 losses in 2 years warranting an extension, though.

Not yet, but I don't think Bama will make the postseason this year. If that happens the seat will be getting warmer.

Outside of Bryant and Saban, EVERY Alabama coach is ALWAYS on the hotseat. That's a part of the job until you prove you're a championship coach.

Probably not, but upper management clearly believes in him, and contract extensions are just the nature of the beast these days when you want to keep someone.

Contract extensions are just a nice padding to land on in case they have to fire your arse quickly because someone much better just became available.
I would love to see Deboer get replaced by someone better but he's the best available atm. We're evidently stuck with him for now.

This. He is not Saban..unrealistic to expect Saban results.
Just like after Kirby, would not be fair to expect the results he produces
We went through it after Urban....it is what most programs go through. Can't expect every coach to win multiple titles, would be insane.
