Just like Aggy, Gumps are bragging about having a better season than LSU, who fired their Head Coach and replaced him with a coach who wanted to be at LSU more than he wanted to coach in the playoffs at Ole Miss

The more I think about it, the more I understand the contract extension in the off-season. Bama's administration is committed to Deboer for the long run. Good for them.
If Bama loses to Kentucky or Florida State or South Carolina early in the season, there'd be a storm cloud over the Bama program and the mood would turn nasty. The contract extension is basically a way of preventing the Bama boosters and fans from getting carried away.

Interesting fact. In 90 games against Alabama LSU has never beaten Alabama by 29 points or more.

If they go 9-3 or worse with this easy arse 2026 SEC schedule, that seat will be ON FIRE for 2027.
No way on earth should they go 9-3 with this schedule and be on the bubble, not like they schedule hard like Texas and LSU do

I think Deboer is prob a good coach, but I have to question his intelligence to want to follow a legend like Saban.

If Alabama fired Deboer today they would owe him about $20 million less than LSU has spent on buyouts the last 5 years.
But they are not going to fire a coach who is averaging 10 wins per season like Deboer. Deboer is not Saban or Smart. But it is interesting to compare his win total over the first 2 seasons versus some other coach’s.
Deboer: 20 wins
Smart: 21 wins
Saban (LSU): 18 wins
Saban (AL): 19 wins
Kiffin (Ole Miss): 15 wins
Sarkisian (TX): 13 wins
Heupel: 18 wins
