If he's not on the hot seat, it seems like Alabama has lowered its standards a lot.

If making the conference championship game, winning a CFP road game and losing to the first team in history to go 16-0 puts a coach on the hot seat then every coach in this league should be on one.

They just gave him a massive extension

SideTaint has definitely lowered his expectations.
I mean, DePoor gets blown the frick out by 35 and The Taint just makes excuses for him…
But when Nick Saban never beat Brian Kelly in Baton Rouge?

They hold LSU's coach to higher standards than their own guy these days.

Gumps are still convincing themselves that they’re Lane Kiffin’s dream job while their greatest coach of all-time told everybody that LSU is the best job in America

Is Saban wanted Lane as HC he would have been at Bama when they hired Kalen.
Instead he didn’t even get a look.

DeBoer is not Saban and it's both unrealistic and unfair to ever expect him to be Saban - or to expect to magically find anyone else who can be Saban, either. I'd much rather remain competitive for the conference and playoff every season even if we don't win them nearly as much as we have the last 15-20 years than start firing coaches because they don't win at the same clip that Saban did. That's how you crater a program.

As long as a coach continues to make the Playoff and/or the SEC Championship Game, he's not on the hot seat, IMO.... at ANY school, even Bama.
That said, whenever they have a season where they fail to do one of the above, he'll definitely be on the hot seat.

Gumps got their cheeks spread vs UGA in the SECCG, beat an OU team who should’ve lost to Frank Wilson and Michael Van Buren at home, before their 1st round QB failed to produce a TD in a 35-point national embarrassment.
That was all before it became painfully clear that DePoor has a serious meth problem and started begging his broke dick fanbase for money

Its all about how you lost Gaslighter.

Gumps have completely forgotten about losing to unranked Vanderbilt when they were ranked #1…
“He’s really not even that much of a drop off from Saban!”

No.
Everyone raided Bama after Saban left...DeBoer took all the leftovers and won...hell, the guy turned Michael Penix into a 1st round pick, he knows what he is doing...patience is a virtue.

Not now. If he wins 9 or more, no.
Anything less, and he enters next year on the hot seat.

If he has his third four loss season in a row, he’s on the hot seat.
Alabama has higher standards and expectations than that.

I honestly think he will move on before it gets to that. He’s rich now and probably prefers something else like Oregon or back to Washington.

Depends.
Does he beat AU and UTk?
Does he make the SEC CG?
Does he make the playoffs?
I think the latter becomes the most important. It is an adjustment, but keeping a continually CFP competitive team (even entering at 2-3 losses) is going to be the standard to measure coaches and programs.
Simply too much unpredictability in the system to expect a string of elite seasons.

How badly did LSU lose their playoff game last season?
How badly did they beat BAMA?
