Kirby Smart loves to play cream puffs. He’s 8-0 against Mizzou.

Be careful - Mizzou gives us a very tough game every year. I’ll never understand the Mizzou hate on this forum, they’re probably the best posters here.

He's such a chicken, he got Jeremy Pruitt to submit the request through Fulmer before he was even hired, and got Fulmer's replacement, Danny White, to sign the change within a week of getting the Tennessee job.

Mizzou wants to act like it is a premiere program when it hasn’t won its conference since Dan Devine was coaching there.

The OP is talking cream puffs when to most everyone else, they are a cream puff. But hey, they played UGA close and made it to ATL a couple of times.

They bring it on themselves.

Yep...but they replaced Army with Akron, and they only beat them by 57 points.

Basically any NC-winning coach in the past 30ish years who didn't coach in the SEC made his name by playing patsies. Conference or non-.

Mullen at MSU was also a big cream puff fan. He had some really tough ones on his early schedules that were set before he got there but after that, they breezed through them. They scheduled Okie State in 2013 and lost their AD (Scott Stricklin) publicly apologized for scheduling them.

It’s always been Mark Mangino‘s world. We’re just orbiting it.

I've got the data.

Formula: winning % against unranked opponents MINUS winning % against ranked opponents, only while at the school they coached at last season

The higher the number, the more that coach feasted on cupcakes:

.649- Billy Napier, Florida (FIRED)
.640- Hugh Freeze, Auburn (FIRED)

.611- Eliah Drinkwitz, Missouri
.609- Mike Elko, Texas A&M
.608- Brian Kelly, LSU (FIRED)
.594- Brent Venables, Oklahoma
.566- Josh Heupel, Tennessee
.529- Clark Lea, Vanderbilt
.513- Sam Pittman, Arkansas (FIRED)
.512- Mark Stoops, Kentucky (FIRED)

.500- Shane Beamer, S Carolina
.467- Jeff Lebby, Miss St
.434- Steve Sarkissian, Texas
.336- Lane Kiffin, Ole Miss
.280- Kirby Smart, Georgia
.178- Kalen DeBoer, Alabama

The OP's head coach is actually the one who's feasted on cream puffs of all the returning coaches.

Drinkwitz has a .792 win% against unranked opponents but just a .182 win% against ranked opponents.

This. This right here.

…and they gave him an extension when nobody was coming for him.

like their starting QB.

Howard didn't opt for the portal, Ryan Day ran him off when he made it clear he was looking to replace him the next year. That's a statement about the culture there.

Mizzou was missing 2 starters (Rakestraw and Hopper) on Defense due to "injuries" (also known as thinly veiled holdouts). Both of those starters were drafted into the NFL. We held OSU to 3 points without them.

Harrison may have made a difference, maybe not - OSUs line was abysmal in that game.

They could also have a shitty win % against unranked opponents and have a better ranking here - just a flaw in the formula haha. Jeff Lebby is 7-18 at Mississippi State, for example.

Apparently, beating Ohio State in a non CFP bowl with players opting out was the biggest postseason win in the history of Mizzou football.
