This. The "valuations" are based on "potential influence". That does not necessarily, and likely doesn't, translate into the player getting paid that much.
Social media revenue is typically based on "impressions", the actual number of times the ad is seen. For example, If a contract is for $1 per impression up to 10,000 impressions, the contract is worth $10K, obviously, but if it only generates 500 impressions, it's only $500.

It's well-known Beck wanted to transfer (specifically to FSU) and actively tried to get several teammates to go with him, only to learn he was unable to transfer (and be eligible immediately) because of his grades.
It's so well known that this is the first I've ever seen it referenced.

The coaches must have thought he was the best chance to win or they wouldn't have kept putting him out there.

I watched a lot of Philo’s and Vandergriff’s games. A lot of their numbers came against completely overmatched teams with PACS still throwing bombs up by 40 to blatantly pad stats to the point that PACS has trouble scheduling non-region games.
They are talented, but those numbers are inflated.
Coach Vandergriff has moved on and Jon Richt is now the head coach.

Dooley and Adams agreed that Dooley would retire at the end of his contract, and then Dooley tried to end around the whole thing by going public that he wanted to stay. Adams caught all kind of flak for holding Dooley to their agreement. This was all after Adams had to override Dooley to fire Goff.
Dooley chose to have the entire athletic facility on South Lumpkin named after him stating that he wanted to be remembered as the AD rather than as a coach.
Then, we got the public campaign to put his name on Sanford Stadium.
Running off Saint Vince was a grenade nobody was willing to fall on back then.

Star CFB players are going to the NFL
UFL players did not make it
I've been regularly attending/watching D-II football games since 1996 knowing that very few of the players are going to the NFL.
What percentage of FBS football players actually make NFL rosters?

I haven't watched the NFL since the games became just more politics. Sports are supposed to be a diversion.
I've enjoyed the USFL/UFL, but I don't know that it has a long-term future, and it won't ever replace college football in popularity.
The UFL seriously needs to get its act together with scheduling. Having to hunt for games isn't conducive to ratings.
Also, the ticket prices are ridiculous. They are playing in empty stadiums but want $90+ outside of the end zones.

That's a weak troll attempt even for the off-season.
Plus, SEC rules prohibit players from transferring within the spring and playing in the fall.

The rest of the programs could go winless, and his job wouldn't be in jeopardy so long as the football team is at the top, as it is now.

Thought part of the stink was the db was already paid to sign with Wisconsin and then Miami paid him again.
Neither school paid him anything. That's not how NIL works. Athletes aren't getting paid by the school to play. They are getting paid by advertisers for the use of their name/image/likeness.

TN wasn't paying him at all. TN wasn't/isn't a party to his NIL contracts.

Henderson took a plea deal for 20 years (15 on probation).

I don’t understand why the NCAA doesn’t just kill the loopholes. This isn’t hard. You can have NIL or an open transfer portal. You can’t have both. Reimplement transfer regulations and shut this mercenary shite down.
The NCAA ran the show right into lost court battles.

Some teenager pumped up on his own press, along with greedy family and “advisors,” was bound to overplay his hand eventually. Short of some kind of rule change, the only way to rein this in was for somebody to say kick rocks, kid. Good on Tennessee.
That's how the free market works.

The issue is the transfer portal where you can transfer without any penalty at all.
If you fix the transfer portal, you fix college football. Simple as that.
Why can the coaches leave but the players can't?
Since college athletics is a business, it should be taxed as such and not get to hide behind the mirage of being "public".

All NIL deals are signed as 2 year contracts. Failure to complete the terms results in repayment of contract value. This is for each individual contract, whether its national or local.
NIL deals are between the athlete and the sponsor. While we all know that the schools are brokering the deals, the schools are not party to the contracts.
