re: Are goods shortages really coming in the next 2-4 weeks due to Tariffs/halted shipments?

My company does business with a large (multibillion-dollar revenue) trucking/shipping/transportation/logistics business that operates mostly on the West Coast of the US. Most of their drivers (who take product out of major ports) have been on a rotating furlough program (1 week on, 1 week off) so they can retain them & allow these guys to keep their benefits. Their normal routes have been cut by 60%. They are making it sound like what is coming is really bad.

Texas has played in 100% of the conference championships possible since joining the sec
I was told the only reason this happened is that Texas was blessed with the first ever "easy conference schedule" in SEC history.

I want the US to fix our budget deficits and our trade deficits.
Trump will make our national debt so much worse.
Worrying about trade deficits is nonsesne. It is silly. We have more money than everyone else. We have the world's largest economy.....of course we will buy more from other countries than they will buy from us.

I am happy to get a better value for my money, which allows me to increase my personal wealth. Your nationalism is bleeing into socialism. You are restricting free trade. You aren't a capitalist.

wdhalgren.....Trump supporters like you are the most interesting to me.
Even though the US is currently #2 in manufacturing, you want us back at #1. Trump promised to bring back manufacturing to make this happen: Promise
Now, we all know that this process will be painful. It will get ugly. I personally don't think it is worth it, but you do.
Since you do, Trump negotiating all of these 'great trade deals' has to be infuritating to you. Every trade deal we negotiate KEEP MANFACTURING OVERSEAS. IT PUTS OUR INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY AT RISK. IT BREAKS TRUMP'S PROMISE AND GOES AGAINST EVERYTHING YOU POSTED.
I have yet to hear a Trump voter reconcile this. I eagerly await your response.

This administration is desperate to keep Americans from finding out that they, and not foreign countries, are actually paying the tariffs:

This is just nonsense talk and gibberish.
Every school has boosters that want too much say-so. Every school has a fanbase that has inflated expectations.
Texas has 1 title in the last 50 years because we didn't cheat at the insitutional level. Of course, $100 handshakes happene evrywhere. Small thinsg happen everywhere. But high-level cheating, with the university involved, didn't happen everywhere.

if I remember correctly he went to Ohio State initially
He committed to Texas (where he always wanted to be), realized he could graduate early, found out that (at that time) he couldn't legally make NIL $ while under 17 in Texas but could in Ohio, so he got a $1mill NIL deal and spent a year in Ohio State.

Texas had a bit of success while he was there (if I remember correctly he went to Ohio State initially) but could anyone argue that it was due to Ewers (not in spite of him)
How many programs wish they could have gone to the CFP semifinals, and have been a play away from the national title games, the last 2 years? Ewers followed a consistent pattern. He would start the year looking like the best player in CFB. He would beat elite teams on the road by double digits. Then he would get hurt, and not be the same when he came back. He couldn't throw deep. He would hesitate and essentially sack himself. We never saw a full season of the real QE, but that is who he is. The NFL guys know his injury problems make him a poor bet for top tier NFL performance.
quote:
More like weak schedules.
Look at who Texas plays on the road out of conference every year. This is a silly statement. By the way, I never heard the phrase "easy SEC schedule" until Texas joined and started winning most of its games.
