One guy, our former university president who was a UC Berkeley alum, wanted Texas in the PAC.

I truly think Texas should have gone to the B1G instead of the SEC.

The podcast guys say they are Big 10 bound.

Of all of the things that have happened in college football realignment, nothing would surprise me more than the proud academic institutuions of the B1G voting in Texas Tech.

However, if the SEC were to invite Texas Tech, Texas would very likely go to the B1G.

He's saying the SEC because Texas, A&M and Oklahoma are SEC and those are the schools Tech is probably going up against most

Texas Tech has a verbal committment from the #1 player in the country for 2027. They are going up against everyone in recruiting.

Look, it finally hit Cody that by forcing Texas Tech to try to play a player that wagered on his own team, his university has permanently burnt its bridges to the upcoming superleague that will be controlled by the B1G and the SEC.
PE firms are an eventuality of capitalism and the free market. It is always funny to me how people from our reddest states become unabashed Trotskyists when it comes to college football.
LSU being broke and no one wanting to stay in Mississippi are not mutually exclusive conditions.

He played a good bit of the 2008 game too

McGee had more than twice as many pass attempts than Jerrod Johnson.

Only old Aggies I remember were the RBs Jamar Toombs and Javorski Lane. They were both like 300lbs

Here is a Stephen McGee and Lavorski Lane video for your viewing pleasure:

A simple Google search says you don’t know what you’re talking about. Only loss was to y’all’s championship team and he almost won that one as well.

From the Texas A&M website: LINK

He beat you guys twice

He was 2-2 against Texas. He won 2 1-score games and had 2 bad double digit losses.

You guys take time out of your day to brag about this?

Why not boast about all of a&m's recent conference & national titles in football?

USNRW is still widely viewed with skepticism by Professors and Deans.

University rankings are by nature a bit silly. Do we really need a 3rd party to tell us that MIT is academically superior to Texas Tech? Does anyone really care how WashU compares to Rice? The WSJ rankings had Babson ahead of Princeton, Harvard & MIT. Obviously, a flawed methodology.

However, if any rankings matter at all, it is the USNWR rankings. Why? Because that is the only ranking the university leadership cares about.

When other rankings come out, schools might have a link to those rankings, but that is it. Here are some examples of schools caring more about the USNWR rankings:

Columbia rigged their #s to look better for USNWR rankings; LINK

Northeastern changed its entire model to game the USNWR rankings: LINK

When Vandy dropped in the rankings, their Chancellor wrote an open letter addressing this issue: LINK

Both UF and UCLA created banners & signs to post around campus when they made the USNWR top 5 public universitiy list. There are many other examples I don't have time to look up. USNWR is the only ranking that moves the needle.

I remember him as a really good player. It feels like just a couple of years ago. This is a shock.

Sumlin at A&M owes a lot to Johnny Football.

No national title, no conference title, no division title...what did Johnny do for Sumlin? Barely beat Duke in the chicken bowl?
.....to win a college footbal national championship?

I can’t speak for all schools but Kiffin has stated that he isn’t paying top dollar for HS kids unless he sees a path for them to play as freshman.

Not every school is broke.
The last time I remember FAU playing in Gainesville, it took 2 bad calls on consecutive plays at the very end to gift a win to the Gators.
Elko is doing the best he can.
If you put your ear up against the aggie football trophy case, you can hear the ocean.
