Makes too much sense but the ego of football coaches, players and fans wouldn’t allow it. So much of it is extrinsic motivated by being perceived as part of “the” big boys table and invited to “the” tournament. Instead of being happy with what they have and what it could be, which is objectively better for all involved at their level and I reckon that’s not just the moral fiber of it but also financially.
ETA. Never in a million years would this happen because of conferences but would love to see some sort of relegation/promotion concept that the G6 playoff would factor into.

Underwood doesn't really fit on LSU's board. The QB room doesn't have bodies. You're going to pay Underwood $4 MM and then get who else? No QB is going to come knowing they'll be a backup. You need multiple. We will have 0 QBs on roster once MVB transfers, it's like people don't realize that.

Wish Frank well and don't discount he has brought value to LSU, but I can't think of one elite program where an assistant has been given such exhalted godfather status as Frank. It doesn't seem healthy to be honest.

LSU is in a real bind at QB next year. I keep hearing “transfer portal 1 maybe 2” and I say “2 is a minimum” because you have 0 right now. You really need 3 from the portal.
