I had noticed it for sale a few months back as I look at BR real estate from time to time, and even noted “well wouldn’t that be funny” but I would be surprised if Wade put a contract on it a month ago.
What is this supposed to prove? A lot of people have looked at that listing as it’s widely known to be his old house.

SEC Championship
SEC Tournament final
4 straight tournament teams
Sweet 16 appearance and 4 tournament wins
All with a significant cloud hanging over him by the NCAA
Yes. Obviously YES.

Sounds like we've got one last fight on our hands.

He never attended any pre-season or fall scrimmages. He regularly missed games. One time he missed a whole weekend series for a wedding or some shite and told everyone to follow a guy with a locked twitter account for LSU baseball updates.
Not to make you feel like a dick, but he often traveled to Houston to be with his wife undergoing cancer treatment.

it's almost as if he was kneecapped by the NCAA or something
And I think "profitability" is a tricky concept when it comes to college athletics. You can have loss leaders that provided 2nd and 3rd degree value to the University/State, and Mulkey/LSU Women's has been a shining light. However, there are other programs whose light would shine even brighter if given the proper resources and leadership.

That would not surprise me. In an imperfect world of scarce resources, I want LSU football, baseball, and men's basketball to succeed, and if it means women's basketball has to take a step back, so be it.

Professional, good guy. Knew he was not long for Baton Rouge given his chops. Incredibly sad what he went through with his wife. Wish him all the best and happiness.

I don't think that's the case really. I think the quality of our communities is a factor though. Try living near an economic hub and search the neighborhoods with $400-$500k houses.

Every President will have failing economic approval until 30 year old men universally feel that they can afford a down payment on a house in a desirable community without working a job that requires them to work nights and weekends.
We can argue the mentality of that but it really is that simple.

re: Spinoff from the Duke 06 win…what was the vibe for Texas?

I was in my sports consuming prime and went to both of these games.
What I recall about the Texas game was thinking Texas was as well a constructed team as you could have. We won that game because both Big Baby and Tyrus played their A+ game.

But do you recall the excitement around LSU basketball while he was here?? The drastic change from the years BEFORE him.
And now look at it.
Thats kinda all ya need to know.
It really is this simple. I am continually shocked by how controversial a take this is and the ratio of upvotes/downvotes for expressing it.
In 20 years, LSU has made the tournament 6 times. Wade accounts for 3 of those alone in consecutive years, and he would have been 4 in a row if not for Covid.

No one should be melting. We are just getting baseballed long and hard.
Dardar was pressing so hard that whole at bat
The team will be very good in May. Just tread water until then.
This team just needs to find a way to avoid that one mistake that seems to compound into a 3 plus runs. That and just getting marginally better all around and they can contend with anyone.
