You're taking that Sugar Bowl loss really hard still, eh?
Do we invite Tulane or Georgia Tech back to replace the Fighting Kiffens?

I'm thinking Tulane - New Orleans is at least fun to visit.
re: OT: Ole Miss fans thoughts about Dan Mullen?
Posted by Pickle_Weasel on 8/31/26 at 11:15 am to theCAW
Mullen came into State during a time where their fanbase (and support) was at an all time low. He brought his "The School Up North" schtick in order to elicit some type of emotion out of the fanbase to get them interested again by using their hatred of anything Ole Miss - and it worked. However, it bred a fanbase that actually hated Ole Miss more than they supported State. That turned into a very toxic rivalry. Hell, there's even a state board that has/had an entire board dedicated to trying to bring down Ole Miss.
As a coach, his offense was good if he had the right pieces. He's an average HC, but nothing special. He had a tendency to throw his players and coaches under the bus and never took any blame (not sure if he's still doing that). Dude was a douche - no clue if he has changed.

Medical hardship waiver != signing an NFL contract, participating in NFL practices, getting cut, returning to college.
You do realize how much of an idiot you sound like by trying to say these two things are the same, right?

Are you willing to risk the same thing with Chambliss?
The SEC hasn't said anything about players getting a medical redshirt. They have absolutely said "NO" to ex-NFL players.

Do you actually think they're just going to play the players if the injunction is lifted?
If they play these players at all - even under the TRO - the SEC will take action in the end.

SCOTUS said they can get paid. NCAA granted a 5th year.
NCAA v. Alston - individual athletic conferences are free to impose their own rules, including stricter regulations than what the NCAA requires.
Again, this will not end well at all for LSU and they're digging their own grave.

The United States Supreme Court has already said conferences can make any rules they want. These TRO's are flying in the face of that ruling. If LSU plays any of these ex-NFL players, they're gonna get arse raped when it's all said and done.
LSU should load up on as many of these ex-NFL players as possible...

...and play every single one of them. I really hope that happens.

Yep, and that's why I've been saying that LSU will likely face a lawsuit if they back out of any agreement with these ex-NFL players. LSU has backed themselves into a corner over this stupidity.

Walker Jones said "nope".

And it will end up in court which is always where all of this was heading.
What will end up in court? Who would be the plaintiff and who would be the defendant? LSU can still honor their agreement with these players and play them. The only scenario that stands any ground would be for Wright and Harris to sue LSU for refusing to uphold any agreement they made with them. Nothing in the SEC ruling says the kids aren't allowed to play - just that the institution will be held responsible.

If this is true, then LSU is very much in danger of getting hit with LOIC....

The article (assuming you didn't read it) didn't say anything about Ole Miss pursuing him - he was just interested in returning to Ole Miss. Just an X post looking for clicks. There was interest with Harris if he would be interested in moving to the OL (he wasn't), so nothing there either.
