any other way than pushing for revolution.

They’re going to have to hope for a rupture from within. We’ve seen how nation building through war fails.

I do believe the Iranians have a substantial base to instigate a revolution. I have a friend from Iran. Atheist as can be BECAUSE of the extremist and dominating theocracy that rules there. So there has to be the potential for a movement.

Will Israel bombing and killing people there lead to that? I don’t know. I have to think this is merely a campaign to dismantle their nuclear program to protect the nation of Israel. If anything, more Iranians will grow to hate Israel.

What’s Israel’s endgame?

They (assumedly) dismantled or hindered Iran’s nuclear program with their attacks. They had to expect retaliation, potentially a sustained one.

Was their goal to eliminate the nuclear threat and then weather the storm until Iran backs down? Are they going for regime change?

My wife loves giving gifts. She loves to surprise me and see the look on my face when I realize the amount of effort she’s put into her gift giving. For that reason alone I love it.

I love that for you. But I think most people - or maybe this is just me projecting - have family that wants a list and then buys from that list.

I don’t say that critically about them. I’m the same way. I have a hard time thinking about what gift someone might want or something that sparks joy in their life. If I’m buying presents, I want a list.

You’re trying to win an online argument in a war thread by posting travel pics from 2016 and 2017?

Why can’t you be normal?

Mrs. HB once asked me what I wanted for Father's Day. I said for her to mow and edge the yard, then check the water, scrub, and then backwash the pool. After that, fire up the grill, make hamburgers, potato salad and baked BBQ beans and a batch of margaritas.

This is the life. If it can be bearable weather with no other responsibilities, I’d take it.

But a lot of times, yard work and grilling out is complicated by coordinating activities for the kids or house projects that also need addressing or whatever else is on the never ending list of being an adult.

So if my wife can entertain the kids, not need me for anything, let me take care of some projects that require physical effort, and then hang out as a family with the grill, then that’s a nice Father’s Day present for me.

Besides, if there was some shite I wanted, I would just buy it. Birthday, Father’s Day, Christmas - it’s all kind of dumb for adults if you think about it.

Unconfirmed reports claim Iran may conduct a nuclear test tonight.

Is the test location Tel Aviv?

This is getting spicy.

Rat snake = good snake.

The copperhead I saw last night at 9:30pm in front of my neighbor’s house = good snake I’ll probably need to kill one day.

Snakes are part of the ecosystem. You do NOT want to live in a wooded or natural area without snakes around. They stay hidden, are rarely aggressive, and only bite when stepped on or messed with.

Well don't act like that wouldn't happen here too.

Not in my area.

This Madonna?

Does not compare to…

quote:

Beat it up, ****, catch a charge
Extra large, and extra hard
Put this pussy right in yo' face
Swipe your nose like a credit card
Hop on top, I want a ride
I do a kegel while it's inside
Spit in my mouth, look at my eyes
This pussy is wet, come take a dive

This is nothing new in popular music. I listen to some of the songs I listened to when I was a teenager and it’s pretty horrific looking back at it. It is what it is. I turned out pretty normal as did the females who listen to the same stuff generally.

Are you sure you’re normal? Or do you assume you are because you’ve existed in this world in a functioning way?

But either way, I would argue that celebrated pop music is way more overtly sexual than celebrated pop music was in the past. I would also argue that just because the past included sexual expression in pop music doesn’t mean it has ever been healthy for young people to consume.

Britney Spears looked damn sexy in Toxic. But she wasn’t getting Eiffel Towered on stage. Madonna was sultry and sensual in her performances. But she wasn’t bending over talking about her “wet arse pussy.”
Keep in mind that Sabrina Carpenter is marketed towards teenaged girls as well as the 20-something sexually empowered feminists.

She has a song that includes a break with the line “have you ever tried this one?” where in the live performance, she gets into a sex position on stage, sometimes with a male, female, or multiple simulated partners. It’s super hot and sexy but the idea that your 15 year old daughter is consuming this content is concerning.

If we can argue that pornography is damaging to the male psyche especially when consumed at younger ages, then why would this not produce similar outcomes for girls?

The "Mexicans" I see around here look much more native than European.

Because the Mexicans with indigenous blood are ostracized and oppressed in Mexico. Those with European characteristics are in an entirely different social class. That’s why Mexican illegals often carry a similar genetic disposition.

Look up the difference between Mexicans from Jalisco and Oaxaca.
Unpopular opinion: I’m not looking forward to CFB at all and think it’s completely lost its appeal.

Or is that a popular one?
Damn. Took like five dudes and a few police officers to get him out of there.

At what point do the cops bust out the taser and arrest him in the arena?

Right off HWY 280 as you enter the premier suburb of Alabama in Mountain Brook is a boat that has lost his way. It has been dubbed Birmingham’s own “sword in the stone” as multiple alpha males have seen their pride take a hit in their failed attempts to dislodge the vessel from its giving tree.

The tree’s location is right at the intersection of three municipalities: Mountain Brook, Homewood, and Birmingham. It is apparently 6-8 ft inside the Birmingham district, meaning that one of the slowest and most inept city proper in the country must figure out when and how to get the boat.

I’ve seen the OT accomplish many great things in my time here. Can you come get this boat?
We’ve had one for almost 15 years.

Your real fun happens with the attachments.

Want to make homemade pasta? Grind meat for burgers or sausage? Ice cream? Grate a 5lb block of cheese? Juice a gallon’s worth of oranges?

It’s like that old commercial slogan: there’s an attachment for that.

Sounds about right.

But I’m some kind of weird anomaly. 5’7 bloke but my first two serious girlfriends: 5’10 and 6’0. The 6’0 girl was a model and way out of my league.

My wife is 5’9.

I have no idea how I did it. I’m not rich and I don’t have a big pee pee. :dunno:

It’s cool having Big Ben on the call or seeing Shaq at a football game because they’re “one of us”.

A large part of that is because they assimilated into the culture of LSU as STUDENTS. These guys won’t have as much allegiance or connection to their schools if it’s just an entry-level job. And with bullshite virtual instruction being used for these athletes, they will never feel the camaraderie of their campuses no matter how many games they play during a season.
