It's more of a HC job to let the fans hear about things that need correction. Not an OC or a DC... or any other staff.
Grubb also used the phrase "your fans" as if he has a total separation from us. I think that was telling. I'm not saying every coach needs to be made of crimson and white like us fans. I get it. It's a job. But when you are a public facing figure and you let us know you dgaf about who we are and what we think, then you're only fueling the fire.
Grubb is doing a good job. Our fans, especially the young ones, are used to a very consistent product for 4 quarters. He needs to deal with the fact that we are demanding. And our fans need to stop booing in the middle of a game. That shite helps nothing.

I think more than anything this fan base wants the team to look like it’s been properly prepared.

I keep hearing "toughen up" but what I see is 6 pages of fans complaining about getting criticism which is actually pretty soft.
The entitlement we have is astronomical. I'm not saying don't constructively criticize, but we have people who just find no happiness or joy and expect perfection which they as fans are hardly that to be demanding it.
We put up 50 on them.
We put up 45 on Kentucky.
No doubt Grubb has his shortcomings but we have addressed our OL, running and have our QB settling and some of you are posting like we're some kind of dumpster fire

Exactly.
Also, people freely and regularly call Grubb names on this message board and social media like "dumbfrick" "fricking idiot" and "retard" yet they clutch their pearls so hard over him saying "your fans" in the context of talking to players about fans booing.

I think he was using that to mean the fans of the players. I don't think he meant he was an outsider looking in. That seems like a more charitable way of looking at it.

For the record, on the whole I don’t have a problem with Grubb’s play calling. His problem is that some of the troglodyte fans will never get over him being from the West Coast and the fact that his primary objective is not and never will be to “run the damn bawl Pawlll” 45 times a game and that the quarterback will forever be the single most important cog in his offense. With some, not all, of our fans those are insurmountable cultural and philosophical obstacles.
My problem is the offense consistently coming out of the gate disorganized and looking non-sharply prepared.

KR turnovers vs UK dug the early hole in Lexington.
Conservative play-calling and disorganization didn't dig the hole vs FSU.

I will fully acknowledge that slow starts by this offense are way too common. That includes execution and, more frustratingly, basic operations and pre-snap penalties in almost every game. That should be cleaned up.
I also don't think fans should boo their own team. Grubb probably should have ignored it, too.

I don't think fans should boo unpaid, amateur college football players. You know, like it used to be, before NIL. But I'm perfectly fine with fans booing highly paid professionals, which is what they are now.
In life, we get what we want. The players wanted football to be their job. Well now it is, they're professionals. Who gives a shite if their feelings are hurt or their egos are bruised? I don't. These guys can pack up and leave almost anytime they want, and they do. I've adapted to all this shite. It's time they do as well.
They all swim in the big water now. Clean up the first half or get booed more. If they don't, they'll have it coming.
Professionals get what they earn.

Did you forget that last years of Nick Saban? You're stuck in 2010s but we're in 2026 and Nick Saban left because he (The Master) couldn't enforce this with the climate of college football.

Completely understand this frustration. However these guys are making in-game and halftime adjustments to get us to roll over opponents.
Let's give credit there.
We are also playing a first time starter who has been very transparent that he's learning, has played timid and is building his confidence

I don’t think people should boo the brand.

There are only so many teams left on our schedule that are going to allow us from coming back from 2-3 score deficits. The adjustments need to come before half time.
It’s not even totally the play calling.
We look completely lost at times, wrong personnel on the field, pre snap penalties, not getting lined up correctly, running into each other in the backfield, etc.
That’s not okay and has got to get fixed.
We’re in week 4 now.

Honestly, came here to say the same thing. Everyone wants to whine and blame Grubb at the slightest breeze but can't handle him making a one-off at the boos.
We had someone here rushing to post that the fanbase was booing one of the coaches but now it's about being personally offended over this?
Then the excuse is "well they're paid, I can be a arsehat"
