We outgained Clemson, quarterback wasn't the issue.

The issue was Locksley couldn't playcall for shite, especially in the redzone. Venables had his entire playbook and playcalling tendency mapped to a T.
Brock Huard produced the bust that is Sam Huard, I wouldn’t put much weight into him
2023 was a pretty bad rushing season from us to be honest. Think we had only 10 runs >15 yards or something

Then we switched the scheme when we flipped coaches and it seemed to worsen significantly
If you’re citing a stat to measure open field elusiveness on a set of backs averaging negative yards before contact, I don’t think you understand what the stat is measuring.

It's mind boggling the line can perform so poorly and people still think the issue was RB
It's being leaked by Dov Kleiman on twitter as the NFL teams submit their picks in the background.
The Rams just drafted him at 13

 OP in shambles
It's a market rate extension. Every major coach is signed through 2031 currently. All we did was align him to market. You can google Sark, Kiffin, Deboer, Elko, etc. and it's 2031 across the board because that's what everyone is renegotiating to.

Deboer is not getting fired if he's going 10 wins in the SEC and making the playoff more often than not. We're not living in the 2010's anymore.

Even then, the contract wouldn't be an issue three years from now because the buyout would be in the 30M~ range. It's pennies. They could just soft push him out or wait it out on an above average but not terrible performance. Michigan was setting Harbaugh up for the former before his championship performance.
There wasn't strong disenchantment with Michigan/PSU calling him, he didn't even force it into an immediate raise.

After idiot fans went rabid over him wearing a hoodie instead of a suit on the sidelines like it's the 1950's, i'm not worried about him taking the peanut gallery with much weight

The deal is a market rate raise and a 1.5 year extension. It's not a huge deal and just speaks to the fact the AD isn't irrational. He went from signed to 7 years in 2024 to signed to 7 years in 2026. That's it.
Just so we’re clear here, stating someone’s pocket movement is unrefined =\= oh my god he sucks.

Some of you are clutching pearls like I just insulted the pope

And yes, I am aware Manziel was good. That should’ve tipped you off that my comment wasn’t criticism about quality of play. I can recall Tua with the Louisville and Vanderbilt corner throws that were similar pocket movement, but Tua also got lit up quite a bit and railed by Saban at times for that.
It's not about the coverage, it's about the edge rushers position at the time of the throw and effort to disrupt the pass.

I'm not brushing off a stat line, i'm just pointing out the pocket presence items could play out differently in real game action. One handles pressure differently than the other, which is unsurprising given the experience difference.
Keelon's pocket presence concerned me. A handful of his throws were not ones he would've gotten off in a true game with edges playing for real contact. Reminded me of Manziel dancing around in the backfield in terms of footwork quality. The seam throw to Meadows and that touchdown over the DB on the sideline (one where the db jumped 5 yards forward for no reason) both felt rushed and could-be interceptions.

Mack made some bone-headed throws and was inaccurate at times (same as last year) but his pocket movement felt leagues ahead.

I don't know if yesterday truly answered any questions for me on the QB's, especially if Mack truly is banged up. I feel pretty good about the WR Corp though

It was tiring watching this board go from

X isn't a good back, Y will get 5 YPC

Y isn't a good back, Z will get 5 YPC

etc. until;

None of these backs are good!

The line sucked, that's 90% of the issue.

While true, this is also one of those things you can tell right off the bat is probably fake based on the account posting it, lack of media reports, and the video just showing a night time road with no identifiers of location.

I could’ve taken a picture of the panhandle at night and claimed the same thing.

Huh? Gotta get your news from wherever else you’re getting it from because that is not the case. It was a rural mountain ridge and we were actively bombing Basij forces.

I’m seeing bot tweets about Dehdasht blocking roads, which is hundreds of miles from the operation in Isfahan; so safe to say that story isn’t true

This has not been the case. Anywhere.

I'm not sure why you would ever say that so confidently.

Colorado raised $54M* in liquor excise taxes in 2025.(caught wrong column)

Here is the excel file showing revenue per month by liquor type

In comparison, they raised 236M in 2025 from Marijuana sales.
It generates revenue. Just because your tourism tax in Tuscaloosa doesn't fix a budget deficit doesn't make it suddenly not a revenue generator. Unless you're also arguing alcohol and spirit taxes don't generate revenue.

Instead of burning ten figures on West Alabama Narcotics, they could instead be cutting a sin tax off the top of a smoke shop in addition to the 6% or so corporate tax on new sales. That's a huge swing in income.

Now if the state wants to be dumb with what they do with that revenue after they've collected it, that's separate from the revenue generation itself.

Having lived in Los Angeles for close to a decade, I can’t recall a single person having “a guy” for pot. You just went to a dispensary and got some edibles or what not.

No one is trying to skim $4 in taxes by using a jank, unreliable hookup that can take an hour to get to you in his 2012 Nissan Altima

In Alabama you had to have your dealer and essentially coordinate whatever time of day, or even day itself he was available to give you some generic unpredictable product. In most cases that dealer was someone in your own fraternity house

There aren’t “illegal sales” in California because, to be blunt, the cops do not waste their time on that. I don’t know anyone ever arrested for Marijuana

Pots not my thing, but it’s a bit humorous seeing how much we burned in Alabama on it and California just turned it into a generic revenue generator like cigarettes or alcohol. Once a year you might smell it in public and that’s it
Have to marry GDP and debt if you’re trying to swing debt as an angle

2022 California was at 15.6% compared to Alabama at 13.4%. Neither were close to the peak

Kentucky is 22.78% for comparison

Anyway #FreeHolloway
The easier route is that we should just... stop prosecuting marijuana
Such a non issue but good old west alabama narcotics gonna frick it up
