Flying airplanes, throwing heat, and cutting grass...

Paul Skenes can do it all, one day...

According to Pirates reporter Noah Hiles, the former LSU star has been spending time with the Pirates' grounds crew and would "love to cut grass professionally whenever his baseball days are over."

The Pirates suck so bad that he is already thinking about life after baseball.

Its nice to be important. Its more important to be nice. Bet the grounds crew have a ton of respect for Skenes.

I retired a couple of years ago and my retirement gig is to work part time on Golf Course Maintenance at Pinehurst #10. Mowing greens is highly therapeutic. I highly recommend it Paul.

Have you visited us at #10 Rendevous? It is an amazing place. Very peaceful at 6 am watching sun come up over the property.

I don’t know you but man… I like your style. Sounds like a way to enjoy retirement. Good for you!

The grounds crew would put up more run support for Skenes than the lineup.

….and the Pirates still can’t score runs when Skenes is on the mound. Another goose egg during his 5 innings of work yesterday. Skenes’ ERA this season is 2.02, and yet he’s only 4-7. He’s given up 2 or fewer runs in 15 starts, tied for the most in MLB this season. He’s busting his arse with little to show for it.

He is banking money for whenever the Pirates do their Pirate thing and give him to the Dodgers or Yankees

I get it. Cutting grass is relaxing to me. If I had to do it for a living…maybe not. But taking care of my yard is my “down time”.

Skenes seems like he'd be that 'intense' neighbor you always at least THINK he's giving your yard the stink-eye. lol ! Dude is awesome. If he ends up mowing grass, it'll be championship grass.

I thought he said he was going to rejoin the Air Force after his playing days are over. Which one is it?

My first thought was "Get on top of Livvy Dunne and stay there"... But this is way better. Cut grass, heck its best when you use a push mower, and we've got one around back. Paul let me know I'll pay you 5$ and maybe even throw in a glass of water for free.

I could see him going to Tennessee and trying to get under the tutelage of Coach Tony Vitello. If he wants to learn from the best.

Jay Johnson has been at LSU 4 years and has 2 titles, including one with Skenes. Vitello has been at 10rc for about twice as long and has 1 title. Vol logic.......

Learn from the best. That's why he went to LSU.

Is Tony V. good at cutting grass? That’s about the only thing he’d be better at than JJ.
