I lived and worked in Deridder for two years in the 90's and it is a unique area. It is a dry parish, so no beer/booze/bars/nightlife. Also the population is mostly pentecostal and mennonite, so alot of chicks with long skirts who never cut their hair.......until they turn 18 and go wild. I would compare it to a morman rumspringa.
