Random thought if Sonic loses, would it challenge its competitors to meet at the Sonic?

The title should read "Which BlackRock franchise has the best burger."

I watched that guy that went and tried hamburgers from around the country. His favorite is the Oklahoma onion burger. So I made one and it really is a damn good burger if you like onions.
You take a ton of onions, brown them a little then smash a ball of hamburger meat on them. Cook then flip. Should be almost 50:50 meat and onion.
Is really good since I stopped eating cheese or salt.

The real best, all things considered, is Braums. Love that place...but it's only in TX, Arkansas and Missouri, maybe OK.

Good value and excellent burgers.

I've been there many a time. The one I went to even had it's own mini grocery store that sold their ice cream by the box.

Maybe OK? It's based in OK. That's where their production facility is.

That's why they call their stores Braum's Market.

This is so selective to location and timing. I had the best double quarter lb deluxe i have ever had in Tyler TX a few months ago b/c it was cooked fresh to order. Overall 5 guys is the most consistent. Carl Jr makes a good burger too and not on the list.

seems like mcdonalds should be the 1 seed in a tourney of shitty burgers. mcdonalds sells more burgers than most of those chains combined.
user avatar

do they sell more because they are better, or because they have more locations?

They don't have the most locations because their food is inedible. Must be something to it.

Wendy’s should never get a higher seed than Whataburger under any circumstances or category.
Other than that, I have no issue with the bracket

Wendy’s when Dave was alive was awesome. Not so much anymore

Musta been about 20 years ago Burger King was trying to gain market share and had their Whoppers on sale for $.99 for what seemed like a year or so. Gained about 20 lbs but loved every one of em.

If you’re ever in central Arkansas try David’s burgers. They do a fine job. Dang good burger.

I do like the thin patties at Steak n Shake. For fast food burgers, In-n-Out. I haven't had smashburger. Five Guys is good burger shop though. You really have to have break out the fast food joints into a separate category.

I've had all but MrBeast, never heard of them. My final 2 would be Culvers vs Whataburger. Checkers could get bronze.

BK Whopper used to be a great option but they apparently made "climate change" motivated changes and it has gone to shite as a burger.

Mr Beast is a ghost kitchen. Typically delivered by Doordash and prepared by some other restaurant depending on the area. In my area, Mr Beast is prepared by Huddle House. Have not been brave enough to try it because I don't trust the employees there.

Whataburger is meh everywhere but in the state of Texas. White Castle is great in some areas. Ate some in southern Illinois which were the best sliders I've had. Ate some in New York City that were terrible.

In-N-Out is pretty solid everywhere in my experience but they need a better footprint in the southeast. There's one coming to Nashville I've heard

In-N-Out burgers are solid and fresh, so mega pluses there. Their fries though are awful, though I admit I'm not a fresh cut fries fan. Which is weird cause they literally cut potatoes in the back within eyeview of the counter. Don't know how or why but they are like cardboard.

Good service and clean though. Just, to me at least, the fries are the worst in the business.

Whataburger is meh in Texas too, the dirtiest/nastiest Whataburgers I've ever seen were in Texas.

I don't hate In-N-Out's fries, but they don't blow me away either. But the burgers are always solid

Midwest chain, expanding all over. There's a few in the Dallas area now. Their butter burger is awesome.

Culver's are making their way down south. Pretty solid fresh good quality chain burger. Not saying the best, but the last time I was in one it kind of had CFA level cust service. Could have been the area I was driving thru and the quality of young employee pool they had to choose from, but I'd definitely stop again if I see it on an exit sign and it's meal time.

No back yard burger?

RECConspiracy21 months
Good...but some of the worst run franchises around overall. They are completely out of business in my area
user avatar
deltaland21 months
Back Yard started in Cleveland, Ms. I always liked their burgers but they had a history of terrible company management. They went downhill after they hired former Shoneys CEO and later former CEO of Red Lobster and Friendlys. One only need to look at the fate of those franchises to see how that fared for BYB. I think BYB only has 11 locations left open
